The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

:laughtwo: We had a member playing with that idea just a couple weeks ago. Not my cup of tea at all.

When I get through my eventual transformation I'll only have one LOS plot running, but I'm so enamoured with the soil that I can't let that plot go. It'll be the tiny closet pot and it'll likely always be my chosen spot for my Dark Devil Autos and the Med GOM 1.0 autos. That pot has an established worm colony working it. That plot of soil is the one that feels most like my pet. Lol!

The kit is its own type of LOS. You're working with microbes, you're just controlling them more closely. I've found I prefer the Clackamas Coot-style of soil for autos and the kit soil for my sativas, but I'm still shifting the auto tent to kit soil. I'm pretty certain I can get the autos to excell in kit soil as well. I'm not giving up on autos. I have an almost inexhaustible source of auto seeds that I simply can't pass up.

What I really need is more space, more fans, more tents, more lights. Sound famaliar? Lol! The urge to expand the grow never stops.

My grows have expanded and contracted in size so many times over the years, and it has usually nothing to do with the quantity of produce desired. The process of crossing and pheno selection can occupy a lot of space and take up way too much free time, but the hobby ebbs and flows. Seed production is a big part of the hobby for me, making good crosses takes some practice but allows such a palette of choices.

I have three organic compost bins I use for making my household soils, for all my plants not only cannabis. I grow one soil for seedlings/cuttings, one for vegetative, and one for fruit/flower production. I love up-potting and transplanting, but that's how I was taught as a kid. It's not scientifically measured and chemically analyzed, but a proven processes and just what my parents made me do at their nursery growing up. Old habits never die, and my habits are firmly entrenched in the soil arena! Smell and texture, those are the tests I use for composting, the nose knows!

Hell Girl you sure do got it on wit dem Dark devils :ciao:
Thanks for being you sweets :hugs::hugs::geek:

Awww, Jaga...... :hugs:  Thank you so much. You always bring a sweet smile to my face when you visit. I wasn't expecting the Devils to all look so different from each other. The two in the tent look like they could be cousins, but the one in the tiny closet's making a name for herself. I'm hoping she'll do at least as good as the 4 ounces her Dark Devil Auto predecessor did under this light. She has another 30-40 days to go, so I may get really lucky again.

My goal was to finally get a store of the DDA under me so I can focus this limited space on some other strains. I have some Revolver seeds getting ready to make an appearance, and my latest contest win means I can try Crop King Seeds Candy Cane auto and try their new CBD Auto Cheese for a minimal price. :battingeyelashes:

Adventures in Training: Supplies

It makes all the difference to have the right supplies on hand when you're training one of these vigorious strains. The tie-downs I use work, for the most part, but they can put unwelcome but unavoidable stress on the new growth due to their design. What's needed are mega-sized stakes that'll go deep.

Voilà!!

Purchase some wire hangers and cut them up. For $1.44 and a couple moments of elbow grease I got just what I was looking for.

When you're working at getting the branches established horizontally, these work better than anything else out there IMO. My mother used to use these in the garden. Thank you Pigeons for the inspiration. I can't believe it took me this long.

One more thing I can strike off the "to do" list. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Since I don't have to tear the grow down this means I can groom this one to follow the Carnival in the tent right now. Back-to-back Carnivals. :slide:

SweetSue is very happy right now. :laughtwo:

Now this is exciting!!

I remember my first rooted clone :dreamy: how far we've come?! I say that so often!!

I'm to the moon and back with happiness for you and the carnival! I sure hope you're dancing too!!

:skeptical:

I'm going to assume since you posted 3 times while I posted that you're dancing!!

:party::goof:

You'd be right about that Pigeons. Still giggling up a storm.

I rooted a clone!!!

Good Morning everyone. Let's check in on the Carnival, shall we?

Carnival #2 (Day 72)

This was a good decision. She's loving all this space. I'll get out of her way now. :laughtwo:

She's holding pretty well, building the strong branches I need her to have to be able to support the bloom. I'm happy with how it's progressing. If I had to venture a guess I'd say another two weeks before the flip.

This one's fun. :hugs: :slide:
