The Joy Of Growing - SweetSue Goes Perpetual

Man! I'm stoned. This is the highest I've been on a Sativa. This is magnificent! Let me get off the street and in the building.

This is the Sour Diesel I was gifted (you sweet, sweet angel) so I already know what I'm growing right now will surpass it in quality. I'm excited to have surreptitiously discovered a dose that apparently is a near perfect fit. Wow! What a life I lead. :laughtwo:

Just do it...

You take cuttings to keep good genetics alive. If you really like the Afghani #1 but none of the rest, then you have the genetics to grow that same pheno again. Seeds aren't cheap, but cloning can be and it'll be a way to save money. Don't get me wrong, I love popping Mystery Seeds, to note i have 6 seedlings that popped this last week, but good genetics are worth keeping around. In fact, some of the best and strongest strains can only be acquired via clones.

Also, autoflower seeds have ruderalis genetics in them, which make them hardy but the original genetics are compromised, so the Auto JH x Amnesia might not be as strong or as potent as the regular JH x Amnesia. That said, autos are good for beginners because of those hardy Eastern European genetics.

And to boot, I assume you want to try your hand at cloning just to say you can. I was worried that I couldn't at first, and now I have two tents full of nothing but cloned plants.

Oh, and you can put clones basically anywhere. I have mine in a small speaker grow box about a foot under two 23w CFLs. The light stays on 24/7 and the clones seem as content as my dog on the couch.

Well, you get reps for that Baby. Way to step up to the bat!!! I hear , I act upon. :laughtwo:

Is there anything that will work other than rapid rooters?

You can soak the cutting in water to soften the stem, but make sure to lop off some of tbose lower branches/nodes and trim the edges of those leaves so the cuttings are forced to put their energy toward growing roots instead of keeping the upper foliage alive.

Skillz

Do it for the knowledge if you haven't done it before. Another feather in your cap.

Absolutely. Rad proved you can keep them alive forever (sorry Rad, laughing with you Bud ) and I could work out a toggling between two autos rotated with one big Sativa. It could be done in there with the right training. I can see it. Surely some of you can? Run a set of autos and switch out to one big plant. The idea's haunted me all day. I have some good seeds. I could grow for years like that.

I'm leaning towards more relaxed grows so I can focus on learning to pass on info for LOS. It's what my original goal here was, and that's gotten shoved off to the side while I tried to distract myself from the reality that life will never again include his hand on my butt when I head to the kitchen to make coffee. * sigh *

Less frantic, still playful, (yeah, like I was gonna stop playing) more educational. Sounds about right. I went all the way into town for these beans. This time I was smart enough to remember to purchase TWO pounds instead of one. Time to make a fresh pot.

Glad to bring you back on-board. I've seen it done with 1" Rockwool cubes, Rapid Rooters, Oasis Cubes, aeroponics, bubble cloners, and I'm currently trying my hand at cloning with peat moss seed starters (aka Jiffy Pellets) which I bought at True Value Hardware for a couple bucks.

It seems daunting at first, but once you get the hang of cloning you'll want to clone every plant you can. If it weren't for a genetic weakness for PM, I'd be cloning my outdoor mint plant right now.

Awww B A R. Thanks. :kisstwo: awwww....

Here's your reward for being so sweet guys

Maintaining the Environment

I won't be starting another cycle of tiny pots until I've figured out just what I'm downgrading to. That means the lights and fans dedicated to that area don't need to stay there and can be integrated elsewhere, like blowing on the girls out on the main floor. The challenge was finding a way to get them out there in that open space.

Challenge accepted and overcome.

The chain clipped to the pot was an easy fix for directionality. The bamboo pole stabilizes the chain. Otherwise, as you should expect, it begins to spiral madly about the space.

I have one more at the other end.

All done with stuff already on hand.

A quick check of the monitoring points.

Auto Jock Horror x Auto Amnesia (Day 63)

She got an Energy drench today. Now we begin toggling back and forth between Energy and the Transwater. She is stunning. I can't believe how swollen and frosty she is already. We still have a ways to go. She's only 63 days in. A little excited here. :laughtwo:

She's taking to this better than I anticipated. Lots of little bud sites rising up along her outstretched arms. She looks like she's dancing, doesn't she? :laughtwo:

Try again. She was so happy she glowed. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Then she had me retake the two pictures that showed those offensive leaves. Thanks Graytail. More work for me.

Just kidding Graytail! We want to stay on his GOOD side!

I'm a bit late with my joyful directive today, but that makes it no less relevant. Spread that joy far and wide people. Noticing a difference in your lives yet?

A bit of a rough day. That spiritual Sativa high sometimes comes at the cost of increased vulnerability, something I didn't know I was capable of. I thought I was as vulnerable as they come. Apparently I was misinformed. LOL! Emotionally draining, but rewarding beyond compare. The opportunities I've been given to help some of you deal with your own grief is humbling to me. I can't quite grasp that I've been given this privilege and I hold it like precious crystal. I work to be an open resource here. It's my chosen retirement plan, and it's beginning to grow on me.

Still have some finish work to do, but I'll be out there soon. See you then. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

"I've lost all ambition for worldly acclaim. I just want to be the one you love. And with your admission that you feel the same I'll have reached the goal I'm dreaming of, believe me....."

Gosh, I love sappy love songs. :battingeyelashes:
