Top plant looks like a healthy budder. Bottom plant looks like a possible bean is forming but that could just be a girl part too. Not sure what "pod" your friend is referring to. Keep an eye for boy parts on that lower plant! CHeers, gl to your grow! 
2nd pics are seeds, so if it's yer buddy's, his plant got pregnant

As noted that second plant is preggo. Congrats on the likely many babies in the future. Any idea who the father is? Haha.
The "pods" he's referring to, if it's not the seeds, are likely pollen sacs.
