Taste Issue?

I am not a fan of Citrus, and every dab I have tried which isnt many, I always get a citrus taste. Now none were store bought so take that with a grain of salt. Now I did try a buddies that tasted good with almost no citrus (he presses but I have no idea which strain or what), wasnt a real smokin situation, big dog, coffee table, torch and all isnt a good time...

So any way, with BHO can I NOT get citrus with just open blasting with a very basic 3g vacuum chamber (+ heat pad) without adding anything or any crazy science experiment type stuff?

Starting material is wet trim sugar leaves only, frozen right after trimming
1.5x8 glass tube
been using Ignitus 11x butane (tried 1 can and 3 cans...1= good look n less citrus with small return 3 can = dark)
done warm water blast and no heat
Chamber ran at both 80ish F and 100ish F (have yet to run at lower vacuum levels just max)

Probably, yeah, assuming you grow strains that don't have the terpenes that give a "citrus flavor. One that definitely does is limonene, which is probably - at a guess - what is causing your... issue. See:

Incidentally, if you ever end up with a strain that has the terpene combination that you actually like, and you want to preserve that flavor in your extractions... I have read that propane is better in that regard than butane is. Personally, I don't know, as I've only used butane.

Well just went and spent $50 on some Elmers Glue Live Resin from the Disp. and well citrus.....Looks and tastes like what I made with a little less taste and a little darker then mine.... (mine is more potent too)

As for the strain, I trimmed a few plants and mixed the trim because it didnt really matter, it's all personal....

Strains were Darkstar, Skunk #1, Phantom OG and Gigabud....
