Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL - LED

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

Depends on space, lights, pots, etc.. I pop an even number..say pop 4, if get male pollenate the others and have a unlimited experimental seed bank..and great meds. :thumb:
My seeded meds were as potent as non seeded meds..just a little less material due to seeds..and it is time consuming.
My 3 autos strains i made with Colloidal silver are kick butt...its the soil and kit of course..:)

I think what attracts me most to you is your playful nature. You've figured out how to have a steady supply of snob weed and that gave you the freedom to play where others are so focused on yield. I'd rather play. I have much to learn from you DrZiggy, even as I continue to learn about my soil. This is so much fun. :laughtwo::green_heart:

About time you got here aki :circle-of-love:

I am getting over my funk. I built a gazebo in the back yard this weekend. 160 pounds of steel structure. BigBox store needed a forklift and a crew of 2 to load it into my old SUV. I unloaded it and moved it to the back yard with no help, then had my labor force (my youngest two daughters 10-12) get crackin assembling it. Don't mean to thread bomb Sue's thread with comments of my backyard adventures. However, I think for today , she will let me get away with it.

This thread is a community effort. It is not possible to thread bomb or hijack my journal. I enjoy the conversations, so feel free to share. When I have something to post I just throw it into the mix. It works for us, don't you think?

Sue.....please save some money for Promix. I think you'd love it for a base soil.

Doc, isn't Promix mostly sphagnum peat moss?

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

SPHAGNUM PEAT MOSS (65-75%) ?
PERLITE ?

I have the peat moss, I prefer pumice over perlite, limestone is an easy find, I have Zeolite, which acts as a wetting agent and I have mycorrhizae on hand. I should be able to make my own version of Promix with little effort.

If you were building say, a cubic foot of soil this way, how much limestone do you think would be added? That's a question for anyone who cares to jump in.

Limestone is added to balance ph only, so it would depend entirely on the peat.

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

Here is the mix I plan on using based off of Blue Jay's recommendation:
Equal parts sphagnum peat, pumice/lava rock, and Bu's Blend Biodynamic Compost

1 Cup each Per Cu ft:
Kelp meal
Neem meal
Crustation meal

5% bio char of total volume (ran out of money here)

4-6 cups Rock Dust (Basalt)

I did have one question. Could I add gypsum and oyster shell flour into this mix at any rate or will that throw the balance off? Maybe substitute a cup of each in for 2 cups of the rock dust? 4 cups rock dust, one cup oyster flour, one cup gypsum?

I have them left over from reconditioning some old used pro mix (a 10' x 10' bed full) my friend let me take off his hands to re-use in my veggie garden.

Deflectohead

Crustacean Meal - Calcium Carbonate + Chitin

Oyster Shell Powder - pure Calcium Carbonate

Gypsum - Elemental Calcium + Sulfur Oxide

Mix these materials in equal amounts and we'll call this your 'liming mix'

Now your recipe will be this

1 cup kelp meal
1 cup neem meal
1 cup liming mix
