Strain reviews from my 2024 perpetual grow

Hey all, here are my strain reviews for 2024:

All of these are from Montreal Cannabis Seeds and are journaled in my perpetual grow journal. Will be moving on to some new seeds & breeders in the new year.

All plants were quad-lined and grown in soil in a 5 gal bucket-in-bucket SIP, flowered under a ViparSpectra XS2500 250W LED panel.

Strain: OG Kush (seed #15)
Nugs: Dense, covered in large trichomes
Smell/Taste: Dank crystals
Potency: Very high
Harvest Size: 7.27oz
Flowering Time: 13 weeks
Overall: Been growing this one for a long time, very hard hitting but light on terps. One of my favorites.

Strain: Wedding Cake (seed #2)
Nugs: Medium density, lots of trichomes
Smell/Taste: Fruity/Perfumy
Potency: High
Harvest Size: 5.75oz
Flowering Time: 12 weeks
Overall: Pretty strong potency combined with lots of nice terpenes makes for a good blend.

Strain: OG Kush (seed #16)
Nugs: Dense, covered in large trichomes
Smell/Taste: Dank crystals
Potency: Very high
Harvest Size: 4.76 oz
Flowering Time: 12.5 weeks
Overall: Been growing this one for a long time, very hard hitting but light on terps. One of my favorites. This one came out better than seed #15.

Strain: Ghost Train Haze (seed #1)
Nugs: Mid-density
Smell/Taste: Very citrus, like orange peels
Potency: Mid-high
Harvest Size: 5.39oz
Flowering Time: 10.5 weeks
Overall: My favorite strain from 2024. It smokes so nice and leaves a wonderful aftertaste.

Strain: Quebec Blue (seed #1)
Nugs: Nice & dense
Smell/Taste: Sweet & spicy
Potency: High
Harvest Size: 3.81oz
Flowering Time: 9 weeks
Overall: This produced some OK bud, but nothing special. Terps were meh, potency was ok.

Strain: Gelato (seed #8)
Nugs: Dense
Smell/Taste: Fruity & earthy
Potency: High
Harvest Size: Forgot to weigh it, about 5oz
Flowering Time: 9.5 weeks
Overall: This seems pretty good, have not tested extensively, but from what I've tried its good bud.

My favorite strain of 2024 was the Ghost Train Haze, a sativa dominant hybrid which came out wonderful. I've just harvested my 2nd GTH plant here in 2025, can't wait to see how it finishes.

I will be moving on to mostly new strains & breeders in the new year, although I have gotten some pretty good results from these seeds. My focus this year is growing some high quality plants, since quantity is more than enough. Check out my perpetual grow journal to see more!
