storage/seedlings

I got over happy ordering seeds. I get a thrill out of it for some reason. anyways if I have to store them for say a year roughly. Should I keep them in the original breeder pack? Or place them in airtight mason jar. I'm going to keep in a cool basement out of the light of course. Secondly I have a 2 week old plant that's sick. I asked in another thread but didn't get too far so I'll try 1 last time. This plant is in a soil that has no ferts in it and none added. Its looking nutes burned but that can't be the case. Can they be born with problems that's out of my control? Should I do anything besides water And do they usually die if it looks like this already? ?

I am storing my seeds in their original tiny ziplock bags in one of my small nug jars that I have lined with paper, placed a cotton ball in the bottom of the jar as well as one in the lid and keep them in bottom of my office refrigerator. This completely stabilizes the seeds in an airtight, cool and mostly dark environment.
