Still ok to transplant?

I am 2 weeks into flowering and have my babies in 3 gallon pots. They are nearly 24 inches tall, and I am wondering if I should transplant into 5 gallon pots. I have heard mixed reactions, but with little or no basis for opinion. If anyone can give me some real advice as to whether or not I should transplant please let me know.

The best advice i can give you is to transplant man! the more space the roots have the more the plant grows! plus its early into flowering so wouldnt shock the plant too much or at all if your real careful about it. And if they are already as big as you want them to be then just leave em! Whatever is good for the plant man!

well Ive been reading in some places that they are too big for the pots and that the plants will die if they arent transplanted. They look extremely healthy now, but I just want to make sure that they dont end up dying 6 weeks into flowering.

Any advice on the best way to transplant them? I was thinking just holding the plant upside down and lifting the pot off the dirt. I dont want the dirt to end up being too heavy though and destroying the root system.

What do you think?

I would transplant then man because they are gonna grow alot and so are the roots and yes the plants can die if they get rootbounded. The roots will have no place to grow so eventually no growth then death. Water your plant just enough to moisten the roots. If the soil is damp it will hold together better for the transplant process. Fill the larger container with potting soil, leaving enough room to set the plant and rootball in.Place your hand over the top of the pot, keeping the stem between the thumb and fingers. Turn the pot over and ease the pot off the plant. Gently set the plant upright into the new soil, then fill in the rest of the larger container with soil. Give the plant a thorough watering, as this will loosen the roots and allow them to begin spreading and growing, and you are done.
