So, found a moment to kick this off.... good question whether I'll find any time to sustain it.

Details:
Hawaiian x Blueberry
Hybrid - 75%Sativa, 25%Indica (.........I think?)
Just went to 12 hour photo period yesterday
Indoor - 3' x 3' x 3' crawlspace
Soil
1 GAL pots (keeping the root mass small to limit height of plants - growing sativa dominant in a 3' high crawlspace)
8 x 23W cfl's
175 cfm ventilation with carbon filter and ona bucket
69 degrees night, 78 degrees daytime
RH of Room - 35 - 50 %
PH - haven't measured
No pests detected yet...
water every 2 or 3 days depending on pot weight test (building out and testing an automated watering system so I can go on a ski vacation for a week...)
General Hydroponics 3 part micronutrient system, Superthrive


Summary of the last 4 months events...

Bought two strains locally at seed shop in Vancouver BC - Blueberry Jam (BBJ) and Blue Hawaii (BBH)
Prepped small grow space for 6 plants under staircase with access through garage only (y private domain)... stealth being paramount. No-one knows, not even the wife... I like a challenge and keeping this secret is quite fun.

Popped 6 seeds - 3 BBJ, 3 BBH. 100% germination and into the soil they went. Put them under 18hr light. Cut 4 clones from each at about 1 1/2 months old. 100% success rooting out.

Mother Plants wouldn't show preflowers after a couple months and 7 nodes of growth...

so I got impatient and force flowered them with 5 days of 12 hr photoperiod...

Was a bit choked that I ended up with 5 males and just one female....

I had intended on 6 - 9 cloned females with both strains represented. So I could fill a nice 24" x 36" screen. Now I have only 4 BBH female clones and the mother....

Could be I stressed them badly as I struggled to get the temperature and humidity under control... 94 degree peaks and 90% humidity due to inadequate cfm ventilation and a backdraft from the furnace flue...
I went to a dedicated vent pipe and a 175 cfm inline fan - figured the risk of CO poisoning wasn't worth it...

Decided ScroG would be helpful to maximize yield from my meager crop, so I bent the mature plant over and am growing the 2 clones (I accidently killed one and saved one as a new mother...) up into the chicken wire...

And that seems to be where I am at so far... the three plants under flower look healthy, temp is stable at about 78 degrees daytime and 69 night, have them under 12 hrs of 2700K light (actually 6 x 23W 2700K and 2 x 23W 6500K - I have read that keeping a bit of 6500 in the spectrum would help the colas elongate and fill in.)

Latest update from Narnia...

set up an automated feeding system - 5 Gal Home Depot bucket with an aerator and aquarium pump on a timer. Set to turn on 3 times a week for 2 minutes (measured and timed flow to give the appropriate volume)

Trial by fire - spent a week skiing Silverstar and came home to..... healthy happy and perfectly fed ladies in Narnia...

This is handy, and cheap... $28 at costco...

temperature and humidity weather station that lets me see whats going on in Narnia without having to go in the closet. temps are pretty stable at 78 degrees. Humidity varies between 35% and 55%... if it gets outside that range I know I have an issue.

moved my fan up between the lights and the canopy, dropped the lights down to within 2" of the tops... will raise them a bit if I am away for more than a couple days... (another ski trip coming up tomorrow)

Thanks, just in from a week away... auto feeding, lights, vent all doing their jobs... buds have grown noticeably. Will be mixing up a new batch of nutes later today. Lovely resinous glands... beautiful tropical scent. Hope my ona bucket doesn't remove that fro the finished bud.

pics - almost 4 weeks into flowering. Supposed to finish in 8 - 10 weeks... a month or so to go and they are looking delicious.

looking great for real. they claim for best results aim for 50w per sq ft, if u got a 3x3 thats 9 sq ft and ur pushing 184w which puts u around 20w per sq ft. but if i didnt do the math, i wouldnt of known, thats how good they look! +rep for that and for a sick true stealth cab

yet another cfl grow, these keep popping up, so ill keep popping in n having a look at how things are, would be good to see what you get back as you flowered them when they was still small, but by the looks of it your going to end up with some great results,

Good suggestion. I am hesitant to prune too early as I thought those fan leaves were sucking up the lumens and pumping the buds full of resin. ???

Isn't the fan leaf the powerhouse of photosynthesis? or does that task fall mainly to the smaller leaves around the buds?

I can tuck the leaves that are shading back under the screen for now... perhaps until the buds have finished elongating and then trim the excess bush...??

No one likes out of control bush... I do prefer my ladies to be nicely manicured with nothing but the lovely bud exposed. Don't want to do that until they are grown up and ready for the treatment though.

gentle pruning may help, but i have read in another journal that taking to many leaves causes the smaller leaves inside to bud to grow to sort of take the place of the ones that it has lost, but by all means pruning can help with light penetration and should give you denser buds just dont go mad n take em all off, this is not from experience but from another journal i read so thought id pass the info on to you

either way mate, the buds that are visable look really nice, cant wait to see how this grow finishes,. im growing under cfl's for the 1st time and its my first grow since 9 years ago, your more than welcome to have a read of my journal, im only at the start though not into flowering stage, mine are still little babies

Mixed up a fresh batch of nutes - general hydro. Programmed the feeding schedule to allow the soil to dry out for 3 days once a week in order to let more air get to the roots.

Trimmed a few (4) leaves for now from above the screen and tucked the rest back under. Will monitor the situation so that any shading is minimal. Tidied up under the screen - removed any small shaded leaves.

My fingers are really sticky and smell fantastic. I feel like a teenager on a first date. This is so exciting.

New canopy profile - 16 nicely lit bud sites. A little uneven, but not bad given that the 2 clones started out very different sizes and the mother is being flowered out.

I will be doing a little cloning from the one clone I have cooling her heels in a veg chamber - hopefully tomorrow. I'd like to get 6 evenly sized clones rooted and ready to swap in once these are finished.

While trimming below my screen, I noticed a bunch of nice branches that aren't going to get enough light to really develop any significant bud. Has anyone had any success rooting cuttings taken from a plant that's been flowering for 4 weeks? Any tricks to it? I've tried in the past but most have died.
