first off, i would top er.
second off, i would ask you why the plant is so low in the pot?, i think you might say because of space in your grow tent/box, but i suggest that that method will give you many problems later on,, the plant so low in that pot, especially for training it
my jaded opinion only, but i go for easy, because difficult is difficult
interesting setup, indeed, lots of limitations tho, but a fun project
with cfl's,, keep em close is all i can say,,

oh, btw, i would let it grow another couple weeks before starting any training,, there must be some stalk to bend first,, or it will break
