Sorry guys but still not sure I understand the journal thing

I want to post in my journal. I went to my profile and clicked the journal button and it takes to my journal but what I added to it the last time isn't there. Must still be doing something wrong. I had this explained to me before, but guess I don't remember.
Any direction would help.

Lol it's not a literal journal, it's just a different forum on this site. You post a new topic and that topic is your journal.
