The investigation continues as suspects involved in a sophisticated marijuana grow operation in rural Isanti are in the process of being arrested this week.
The Isanti County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 10:54 a.m. Oct. 27 at 25951 Larch Street NW in Isanti. Names will not be released until charges are officially filed.
The warrant was the result of a call for assistance to the sheriff’s office from a repossession agency. Marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found in a vehicle and turned over to Deputy Wade Book.
Deputy Book also observed through a window suspected marijuana drying on a screen. Officers found a sophisticated hydroponic (water) grow operation in the basement that contained a large number of marijuana plants.
The grow was contained in a elaborate, well concealed basement that contained fertilizer, starter cubes, venting fans, lights, water purifying systems, along with timed lighting and a filtration process.
The marijuana plants seized have an estimated street value of approximately $10,000. The equipment seized in the warrant was of extreme high quality and the process was very complex and organized, according to the sheriff’s office.
