I'm growing outside and unfortunately cannot put up fences around my plants. What are some grade A tips and tricks to keep the deer and other animals away from eating my plants?
I've heard about rubbing bar soap on the tree's around them, or drop shavings off the soap... also I think I remember someone telling me using human hair clippings will scare them off... this is all just things I've heard tho... Good luck brother.
a few ideas,
go to a dog groomers place and get some dog hair, and go to a barber shop or hairdresser and get some human hair. Ask for the floor sweepings. Be discret, they will know why you want it.
Not just any bar soap, but Irish Spring. Guess it's that 'manly scent' LOL
I KNOW it worked to drive nesting squirrels out of my attic and the person that recc'ed it to me said that cut up slivers of it around gardens and trees would repel deer.
I don't have a deer problem, but it moved the squirrels right out.
thanks for the tips guys, never thought i would be collecting random doggy poo and collecting my urin, but im sure it will help fend off the unwanted animals.
The Irish Spring and human hair work great. I also sprinkle ground up jalepeno and habenaro pepper around. There is a product call Liquid Fence that also works, but it really stinks bad.
I saw on another thread here that a dude puts set mouse traps upside down, hidden under stems and branches and leaves and they frighten the deer away when they are sprung.
