Yup I have a little bit of country right in the middle of the city. I have about an acre on a little creek that is really just manly a runoff from all the houses and streets around. It not the cleanest water. After I retired I cleaned up the creek area and have been working on it for 10 years now. I take my little dogs down their for their walks.

Good Morning They are Banana trees. I had a friend give me his when he didn't want them anymore.
I had the biggest one up in my yard for a couple of years and it got 6' tall. And last year even got little banana's on it. But I did something wrong and killed it. I planted these plants about three years from the baby's that grow around the older plants. And this area is real swampy and they love it. These too clumps got to about 20' tall this year. It was quite a surprise to me. I also planted a couple of corkscrew willows form little started twigs that I bought about 8 years ago that are about 15 ' tall now. I'm not supposed to plant invasive plants down here but I feel that the Banana plants may be invasive but not sure. I really don't care tough. The City totally ignores this creek and I'm the only person on this whole stretch of creek that uses it at all. I have one neighbor that i'm friends with and he started cleaning up his part a couple of years ago. I was going to try and get a neighborhood thing going to clean it all up but then people from all over would start coming around and they would probably ruin it or try to set up tent's to live their and I don't want that kind of hassle.Sorry about this long winded reply.
