Solo Cup Comp: Bring It!

Thanks Pidgeons I know it's kind of against the rules, but they are growing under the Gaslight routine atm, I don't have any flowering going on yet, while i am revegging my Northern Lights in the big tent (Almost finished) and Skywalker Kush in the little shorty.

Their schedule is 7am til 7pm, then 2 more hours 'round midnight.

I plan on taking the jazz away next week.

In all honesty I was expecting someone to make a DWC out of a solo cup for this competition. Then throw a auto into it and run it at 23/1 while bombarding it with nutrients. Maybe next one.

Topped on Friday, flushed on yesterday- she is looking good on day 29. This morning she was very bright and perky but seems to droop a bit as the day goes by. Topping seems to be recovering well with new growth showing. Trimmed a couple of fan leaves to give better light to the growth areas

It has to be my short growing space (30") and the relative closeness of the LED to the plant (20") that keeps them so short compared to many others.

Is it generally not recommended to mix a gallon of feed and then pour into 500ml bottles that would last a week or so? I'm wondering what the shelf life should be and whether it's better to mix the nutes up fresh each time.

Trying to tuck the fan leaves a bit. Love the purple Maillady

Mine are growing slooow, lol. The reason? the wind knocked 2 of them from windowsill and onto the ground. ugh! Hahaha will see what i get.

Little update... She's 21 days old now. Even if its not permitted, I might change her container for one with better drainage and 18 once of medium instead of 12.

Hi SoloBuds!

Been life busy, but I finally found a few minutes to get onto 420 Magazine!

Well, my solo cup midget is getting close struggling, it's beyond rootbound. I'm watering it daily, and its dry every night. I'm not sure I can keep it alive through 4/20! She is getting mighty moody about being hungry and thirsty all the time, and I can't attend to her needs daily. I just cut a slot and put a wick into the bottom of the cup and suspended her over a bowl of water. I've never wicked before so it's a noob job! I guess I should read up about wicking in my "spare" time.

I'm thinking about trimming roots again, but afraid I'll kill her this time!

Hello again fellow Solo-Freaks!
First I read the post about a Solo cup DWC....so I'm working on one. It won't be ready until the next go around and I will be popping a Dutch Passion Super Skunk Auto. This will be fun. BTW GREAT idea thank you.
Now to the Solo at hand.
DAY 19;
#1 is doing well. I am no longer going to post pics of other 4 until sex is known. I will be trying some ponytailing to get some light to the undergrowth, and as soon as I can get to the new growth of the 4th true set I will top to all 5

Big ones, little ones - all coming from pretty much the same size root container.

Here's the Jack H at 31 days. I've been clipping the fan leaves, maybe prematurely. I am more aggressive than the last few grows. I am hoping to get more direct light on the lower bud lights. It doesn't look like I'm going to have an issue with her being too high on this grow. The topping sight is growing nicely (not that visible from this angle).

Seem to have the avoided the lock and burn situation

Not in this comp but in the name of all that is micro bucket grow... lol. I got stuck with a few extra plants.. Didnt really want to transplant them and then i came across this thread. My lil solo cup chicks.

So many cool lil plants goin in some pretty crafty growtainers.

Ok so OlderGrower had to open their mouth( )and say something about a Solo cup sized dwc...well I had some time on my hands, and this is what I came up with.

Be honest, I have thick skin. Plus it will make the next one even better.

I will save it for next round. But I am going to try to root a cutting in it and see how it does. I took 20 cuttings 3 days ago and they are in the dome, but I hope this can better the dome to roots if a take a cutting later today.
