Solo Cup Comp: Bring It!

Wish I would have seen this thread earlier! I'm going to try and enter anyway. Just dropped 1 Black widow by Mr Nice,1 Lemon Sugar tits and 4 bag seeds that are unknown strain but the Smoke is uber excellent. I still think I can get them to break soil by the 1st.

Good luck all.

Yes there's a 185 gallon/hour pump sitting in the bottom of a bucket full of water/nutrient, which is hidden under the piece of plywood you see the plants are sitting on. The water flows from the pump up through the white pipe and is redistributed through the glossy black thing (manifold) into 1/4" lines. The manifold has flow rate adjusters but it's incredibly hard to make them work well, partly because the thing is a cheap piece of junk. So 'equal amounts' is stretching it. But I'm trying to soak the plants down once a day at this point without depleting the reservoir before I get back to refill.

Kudos to you mate, this is a really good idea. Where does the runoff go? I thought runoff re-entering the medium wasn't good? Looking forward to your response; I dig this.

I have a drain in the floor so at the moment most of it just runs off the sides of the plywood on to the floor. When I get a second I'll replace the plywood with a better designed piece that has cup holder holes cut in to it as the damn things are constantly falling over. They're specially designed to increase beer sales, but I don't like spilling a nice cup of herb if I don't have to.
I may make a system that can collect the runoff and see whether it's feasible to do a recirculating thing, but it sounds like I might run into issues doing that. I'll collect some and test the ph swings, etc. I run off of rainwater and don't want to waste more than I have to.

my bubblicious clones showed some pretty roots today so into the solo cups they go to enter this fun contest.

here they are with their mom:green_heart:they'll actually be in flower before she will:thumb:

Top ones look great,, sometimes normal for lower clone leaves to suffer some, in my experience,:Namaste:

Cloness not rooting. ::punches clone tray sending coco and cuttings flying about the office::

Time to pop 2 seeds as an emergency measure :lot-o-toke:

Vlad :bongrip:

Edit: I have one warm white CREE diode and a 40MM glass lens DIY lamp for this grow. 6volts DC at 4 amps for one Diode. Got to like Cree stuff...

Here's the lil DWC

What size airstone? I don't know much about DWC, but I know the general idea.
What're your nutes like in it? And do you still feed them bigbud/overdrive/stuff like that and do full water changes?
That side of it I've always been a little shady on.
Can't wait to see what she looks like!:cheertwo:

I have no clue what I'm doing! I'm using General Hydro 3 part, starting at 400 ppm with ph of 5.8 for the most part I'm an organic guy but I figured now is a perfect opportunity to try something different.

Gotcha. I've been thinking about trying to set up a DWC, but I feel like the noise coming from the bubbling would be pretty obnoxious, at least in my environment. (not sure about the small ones, I don't see how they would be all that loud, tbh):Namaste:
