Soil

I cant remeber what kind i picked up. But on the bag it says it feeds up to four months and has fertizilier in it and i add a little compost in it not much
Well good luck! Let us know if you start a journal bud!

Without knowing what kind of soil it is (is it Cannabis soil or a generic potting soil?) or what is in it, I am skeptical on believing it will feed for 4 months. Cannabis is a very vigorous growing plant and generally outgrows most other plants the same age and will likely test your soil pretty quickly.

Hi Newgrower and Everyone!

I would be surprised of the soil lasted even 2 months... I usually have to add something right around then when the bottom leaves start to yellow.... Indoors I only use bagged soil, compost and worm castings for topdressing and some fish emulsion fertilizer for a little kick when things start heading south. The fish stuff needs pH'ed but compost and worm shit do me pretty good for me nowadays.

Also the bigger the pot the better!

GL Cheers Friends,

Omg so I’ve done my usual. Based on zero research and zero advice, I had a brain explosion and I decide to save myself $10 and buy a completely different soil because I couldn’t wait 24 hours for my hydro shop to open.

So as I’m potting up I’m mentally congratulating myself on making fabulous choices, despite the fact that if I use history as my guide my brain idea explosions usually end in disaster..

So cold light of day I have gone from a daily water using mega crop nutes in a terra professional soil with a bit of that white polystyrene looking stuff that comes from volcanoes and I have bought a soil that does all this:-

What’s in Coco Pro?
  • Slow & Controlled Release Fertiliser – For 14 months of sustained feeding
  • Coconut Fibre & Coconut Chip – An organic water saver & root stimulator
  • Zeolite – For less fertilising & less watering
  • Trace Elements – Plant multivitamins
  • Sulphate of Potash – For more flowers & juicier fruit
  • Microbial Stimulants – Boosting microbiological activity

So now I have had a minute to think about what I’ve done I realise that adding nutes might be the wrong thing. I’m so angry at me. My plants have been growing so well, I just can’t believe i didn’t ask for advice first. Well I can... its what I do and it’s sooooooo fucking annoyingggggg.

My question really is should I buy terra professional today and reuppot or can I keep that soil and feed as I did before using mega crop?

Only 2 of my 5 plants are in this mix.

First, I want to say this is an old thread, and you would likely get more attention if you go out to the main faq forum and make your own thread (add some more info too if you can, age of plants, size of pots, pics etc).
That said, I suspect you will run into trouble as this media has 'slow release' nutrients, that is a different kind of feeding than Mega Crop. I am a soil grower tho, so I'm sure better advice will show up.
p.s. the polystyrene looking volcano stuff is called perlite

Thank you for answering.

I know. I just didn’t want to start a new thread if the topic was already being discussed. I was trying to save cyber space. Lollll

I think I had a knee jerk reactive panic attack. My plants look ok so I think they will be ok. I bought some more terra pro so I have a back up plan.

Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

:)
