Soil pH

I have a digital pH meter coming to check the soil in my pots. What is the safest way to insert the probes to ensure there is no harm brought to gals? I'm assuming I would need to get them close to the roots and I don't wanna stab them. For reference, my plants are at 5 1/2 weeks.

I dont check the ph in my soil when I grow organic or the runoff from my coco. Not sure what soil you use but it should have lime to buffer the ph.

So just checking pH of water going into plants is good enough? I'm using FF Ocean Forest soil

Just make sure your ph going in is within range.
