Soil Moisture Beads/Gel

Just wondering if anyone here uses them in their soil mixtures. I have been thinking about using them because if you want to vaccation for lets say 1 week and dont want your plant to dry up. My question pertains to, if you have used them, do they absorb Nutes as well? I dont want to add them if they are going to be holding in Nutes and then when when you go to feed your plants your double dosing your plants and causing Nute burns.

If anyone has any info on Soil Moisture Beads please, that would be great.
