sodium lighting question?

Hello I just pick-up a small 70 watt sodium light and fixture, at a reasonable price, plants are small at this time and will get coverragethey need, till they get some size to them, and need to be transplanted. By then I will have a 600watt lighting set up here! The question is the light coming from this unit, is more of a yellow than I expected, is this normal?
 
Currently I have 10 healthy seedlings, that are only about 4" tall, as I said though, I have more lighting in route, sould have it here in couple of days, I will then transplant, to larger containers, with new lighting, I should be all set. It just threw me off, with how yellow, the light was! I have only used cfl's in the past.
