Smooth reflector hood

So here is the deal, I have one of those adjustable reflectors, it is smooth and doesn't seem to reflect the light downward very well. It also has the thing that attaches to the socket and goes under the light that is supposed to help distribute the light still looks like there are shadows. anybody else experience this? Or solutions. I thought maybe I would take a ball ping hammer and dent up the inside. any thoughts would be appreciated.

Dimpled or hammered finsh reflectors are normally a lot better for reflecting light :thumb:

Smooth or mirrored finsh their ok... but not as effecient for reflecting light as dimpled/hammered finsh reflector.

Er the thing/device which can be fixed to light socket is a heat shield / defuser meaning if you are using it you can hang the light much closer to your plants.

I use to use one a long time ago... i don't bother with it now tho.

yeah so what ya think should i break out the hammer and dimple this hood up. I have a smaller hood that is dimpled so I switched to it. but I will need both at some point, also so the defuser goes on with that way, mine came with no directions so just assumed it went on the other way.
