A slim dark in complexion man of 13 Magburaka Road in Mile 91 was on April 8 caught at Fallah Village checkpoint with 30 kilograms of cannabis sativa locally known as 'diamba' while traveling to Jembe in the Baoma chiefdom, Bo district.
Abdul Kallon was immediately apprehended and taken to the Bo police station where he is helping the police with investigations.
Kallon wept bitterly in the office of the Local Unit Commander (LUC) Bo district, Chief Superintendent Ahmadu Mannah when he was interrogated for the seven large parcels of cannabis. Answering questions from the police, the 29-year old said he bought the drugs from Masingbi village in the Lower Yoni chiefdom, Tonkolili district at Le 20,000 per kilogram.
Dressed in a black jeans trouser and black and white windbreaker long sleeve shirt and a slipper, Kallon said he is a farmer with two wives and two children.
"Oh me! I am going to jail," were his exact words with tears running down his cheeks before being taken to the police cells after questioning.
LUC Mannah said Kallon's arrest was the beginning of his unit's operation to clamp down on drug peddlers. He said he was not going to leave any stone un-turned in his fight against diamba.
