Hey there, I was given a bag of 8 unknown seeds. So, figured why not try this out :bong:

Purpose: Trial and Error learning, have fun experiment. Would appreciate help identifying these plants. To be honest, I’ll be building a grow “room” as I go. Hoping I can stay a step ahead.

Gear:
Grow Medium: Happy Frog Happy Forest and Perlite in 3.5gal bucket
Water: city water pH’d to 5.5
Nutrients: Diablo Nutrients: Grow, Micro, Bloom <--Gimmicks?
Light: x2 Feit Electric 65W Equivalent BR30 Full Spectrum LED Plant Grow Light Bulb
Temp of Room: 27C, 70%
How often are you watering: plan is to water when top inch or two of soil is dry

Journal Notes:
Seedling Day 1
.
-24 hours light, 27C, 70% humd
-germinated paper towel method
-planted deep in these egg cartoon things to inspire stronger roots
-sprayed a little bit of the nute trio on top of soil at night, in the morning, these 4 popped up
-promix potting soil, transplating into Happy Forest soil once they're seedlings
* I have a fancy Dyson fan to utilize. No smell control equipment yet. Maybe DIY active carbon filter in future?! Budget: no wife, so happy life.

Welcome Sideroad. Good start. A couple of things since you asked. Ph in soil should be between 6.2 to 6.8 normally I shoot for 6.5. I hear nute manufacturers might recommend what's best for their product. Watering looks good. They can't get dry now. When they get bigger they like to get dry/wet cycles. My current grow I weighed pots of soil without water and used that weight as reference to not let them get lighter than. Picking the pot up and feeling the weight is easiest when you get the feel for it. When they're light as a feather before wilting is time to water. Then dry again. Let them get bigger before drying too much though. Maybe a week or two. Also they don't need nutes for usually 3 weeks after coming out.Your watering schedule is good until the next potting I think.

Great knowledge right there! Thank you for sharing that with me! I'll pass it on.

Also for anyone else reading this, that may not know, if your water is chlorinated, fill up a bucket and let it sit out 24hrs, the chlorine evaporates over time.

Also lol, I'm building a loft bed with a grow room built-in. Stay tuned I'll link that thread when I get around to it.

For anyone out there familiar with living soil grows, please link me to some resources for learning. Thanks.

:theband:

24rs light, 27C, 75%+5 humidity:cool:

The other four seedlings are starting to poke there head up.

:bong:Looks like the first four seedlings from yesterday are stretching which I've read is caused by light source being to far away so I moved them closer (keep under observation)

Sprayed to moisten the top of soil (with mix)

Named that one twisted plant Gnarly. It shows potential going through its little struggle, please be female:adore:

Seedling Day 3

Went to look at an old corner entertainment unit today as a potential grow box, seems like it will do the job, the loft bed grow box is still in the future, but so far..... FREE IS FREE!

In the mean time the plants will be kept under 24hrs of light until I can build a light proof area for them. But first things first :bong: wake and bake.

:nomo: Ok, this morning I took a look at the seedlings and I believe having moved the light closer to them, has stopped them from stretching further:cool:. Also, I swapped out the 3300k full spectrum LED bulb (the green one) for a 5000k LED bulb (small white one) that I found and think will work better for this stage in their life. I am super high right know as well.:Namaste:

Removed the humidity lid to see how they would react to the outside environment and with a fan. Exposure to a drop in humidity definitely stressed them out a bit, but after adding a humidifier the plants seemed to have stabilized themselves. So fun to interactive and communicate with these plants.

Seedling Day 4
Tripped a breaker last night. I'm a renter and have no access panel. I'll need to sort this out for the future, I'm lucky it didnt affect my set up.

Transplanted 6 of the 8 last night as well. They're looking good today. 77f and 75rH.

Is this grow still alive?

We would love to be updated with some pictures and info.

How about posting a 420 Strain Review?

If you need any help with posting photos, please read our Photo Gallery Tutorial.

I am moving this to Abandoned Journals until we get updates.
