Shriveled tops on flowering plant

im having issues with my two Lemon Skunks that are two weeks into flower. They are both about 40 inches tall. The temps are 81 lights on and 68 lights off. Im using a 600 HPS that i have moved up as high as it will go in my 4x8 tent. The light is about 3 feet above the tops. There is plenty of air circulation. I have been using Blue Planet Nutrients elite series, at this stage im giving it 2ml grow, 2ml micro and 7ml bloom. This is about half of the recommended dose that the bottle recommends at this stage in growth. Here are some pictures of my tops. If someone can tell me what to do to fix this issue, or if anyone knows what this problem is it will be of great help.

Man buddy. Hope someone helps you. I don't have a clue but going to research. If I find something will let you know.

Ive had this many times..next 2 waterings add veg nutes and cam mag to the flower nutes.they need nitrogen.should clear up in a week.makke sure your ph water is on ok.check it before every watering always.....ill watch to see how she does..peace

I keep my 600s about 12" average from the tops of the plants and they can be closer than that. (Open bulb with reflector). You can go much closer, as long as you have air movement from fans and aren't getting strange hotspots.

I agree with Blue 281- now that my eyes are unglued and I can see your text and pics better.
Looks like iron def. Dona search on it. The cool thing about this deficiency is, it's the only one I know that's reversible if you get on it, and your leaves can go back to being a proper green.

Keep your light high for now, though what I said is true. Lower them when this def is under control.

Get your ph in the proper range. I don't know what medium you're in but having your ph on the low side is way better than in the middle of high part of the range, IME. What I'm saying is -feed and water lower. For soilless I use about 5.5.

Thanks OldSchool, i have ran out of CalMag but the plants have always done fine without it until now, i have some on order, will be here in three days.

Thanks Weasel, i have heard many different opinions on how far to keep lights away from tops of plants. I have watched many videos on the Grow Boss and he swears by keeping the lights at a far distance for best results, he claims growers biggest mistakes are TOO MUCH light. Im torn.

If the new growth is yellow it's normally due to iron deficiency, if its lower growth turning yellow then it's nitrogen deficiency. Either way check your PH and make sure you giving the plant CalMag and the correct flower nutrients.

Thanks Blue, I will be giving CalMag very soon, will this also help with the iron def. or do i need another product for that?

I use Botanicare calmag+ which contains iron (that's the ''+' ).

The one thing that sometimes I don't like about it- it has quite a lot of N in it. I have to say- it's caused me no issues over the last decade or so I've used it, but I might look for one that doesn't have N in it- just to have that extra bit of control in flowering.

I'd get some second and third and fourth opinions about that 'Grow Boss' idea...

But the deficiency you're showing occurs in the spots closest to the lights- so for now I'd keep them up there. I had the same problem last year once- added extra calmag and bumped ph down another notch and it actually reversed itself which was very cool.

Hey Weasel, do you have a current journal at the moment? Im gonna start another thread as soon as i find out what strains i want to purchase next. I have never done autos and that intrigues me. Im just fond of photo period strains but i want something new and interesting. There are a ton of new strains out there, mostly crosses of old strains so im doing my research. Ive been looking at Bluniverse and some others from Dynasty. Dark Devil, Night Nurse and Des star also have caught my eye. Any suggestions?

I'm in between journals at the moment. Just closed my second one. Probably I will start one up in the next month or so. I don't grow autos and really don't have much interest in them so I can't help you there. A lot of people love the dark devil auto so I would think that would be a winner. I mostly grow sativas and such.

In hydroponics, iron falls out of the solution relatively fast due to the use of magnetic driven pumps without grounding probes and high levels of dissolved oxygen from air stones and pumps.

Iron def? Really? Almost impossible to get was my thinking.. here to learn aren't we:)

I also run 600 and the lingers were bleaching mine at that dis I had to raise and move to the outer prim
