Welcome to the first in what will be a series of journals where I flower new genetics gifted by a mentor to help stabilize the strain, monitor its progress and collect data for R&D…you know, for science!

I’m super grateful for the opportunity to share this new project, having matured a bit within the growing community. A couple years of experience nurturing cannabis plants in soil has been humbling, more than anything else. And I forgot how much I missed this part of the growing hobby, connecting with good people all over the world who are willing to share their wealth of cannabis knowledge. Check my facts, keep me honest and don’t hold any punches if you see boneheaded mistakes. At the end of it all, if you like what you see…maybe we can trade some seeds…

Genetics (Ideally flowering 2 of each)
  • x4 “Lime Snowy” feminized seeds
  • x5 “ChocLit” regular seeds
  • x6 “Chokolate” regular seeds

I drew up some crude “family trees” to give you an idea of each strain’s lineage. If you can help fill in some blanks, or have experience working with Cocoa Puffs, Choka Cola, Oreoz, or Black Lime Reserve, drop a post with those deets/plant specs!

Propagation Setup
  • x15 3-in plastic seedling cups
  • Fox Farm Ocean Forest Soil
  • 2mL/L Advanced Nutrients “VooDoo”
  • VivoSun 30”x18”x36” grow tent
  • Propagation warming mat

Early this morning I let all seeds soak in filtered, room temperature water for 8 hours. While the seeds took a bath, I smoked a J and watered Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil with distilled H2O + 2mL/L Advanced Nutrient's VooDoo root zone expander (pH = 6.8//ppm = 98). I filled fifteen 3-in plastic seedling cups with damp, fluffy soil and poked ½ inch holes below the surface of each. After the seeds were dropped in, I lightly packed each hole with a layer of soil and dispersed the seedling cups onto a propagation heating pad inside of a 30"x18"x36" grow tent.

Next Update:
  • Veg tent setup, equipment inventory & light specs
  • Nutrient schedule during 18/6
  • Plant training outline

93% propagation rate. Great success! I’ve tracked the growth rate of each seedling throughout their first 10 days of life…I thought it might be interesting to see if we can determine any progress or stabilization of the strains overall vigor. Never done it before, no idea yet what metrics to use…ideas?

Chokolate #6 took off out of the gate, the first to sprout. It was also the first to get SUPER leggy which prompted me to keep the light on for 24hrs/day. Thus, most of the other little ones did NOT get leggy on me.

On June 16th, 10 days after being planted in soil, each member of the gang had two healthy sets of leaves and were ready to begin vegging. Timers were switched over to 18/6 and we kicked off the first growth phase. The next day most of the seedlings were in need of a good watering, so I used the opportunity to introduce nutrients and give them their week 1 feeding. Below you’ll see the nutrient schedule we'll follow for DynaGro products...during veg, I’m using DynaGROW, ProTekt & DynaZyme...supplemented with Advnaced Nutrient's VooDoo. Later on, probably around week 3-4, we'll introduce Terpinator and TerpTonix. Because in that toke, its all about the mf'n terps.

The seedlings are looking happy and I anticipate some difficult decisions in the future, trying to determine which plants to flower. Much love to anyone who reads....we're all connected in good energy here.

Cheers guys!

Hope all is well in your world.

How did this grow turn out?

We would love to be updated with some pictures and info.

How about posting a 420 Strain Review?

If you need any help with posting photos, please read our Photo Gallery Tutorial.

I am moving this to Abandoned Journals until we get updates.
