Seeds and winter temps

Are seeds sensitive to winter temps?
I’ve only ever ordered seeds in the warmer months.
If seeds are shipped/mailed during the winter months are they at-risk due to temperatures? (sitting in a mailbox for example)

But remember also, that the Seeds will go thru Temperature Swings in the Cold Months During Shipping, which could cause Condinsation to Form & Then Freeze or Cause it to Sprout.. Idk... Just Thinkin......

That's exactly right. It's more about swings in temps and humidity than cold temps. In fact the best way to store seeds long term is in an opaque container in the back of a fridge.

It's seeds sitting in a desk drawer for years on end that degrade with the changing temps and humidity with the different seasons.
