Seedlings popped!

2/5 popped this morning! (Can you tell this is my first grow?)

Please the pics.

I've removed the dome from the two that have popped and put them under CFLs temporarily. They are not of proper wattage, but they're better than nothing! When I get home from work in 6 hours, I'll put them under the MH, 4' from the glass. I just didn't expect them to pop so soon, so I didnt have time to get them into the tent. My hope is that they wont stretch too much during the day today. I maybe worrying too much here.

When under the MH, should I dim the ballast to 50% for the 4 feet? I have a glass casing for the reflector, or will 4' be too far for 50%? I can just leave it at 100%. The electricity costs are not a problem. Light for 18hrs? Or should they go 24hrs?

I just want this stage to go well, so I'm sorry for all the questions.

Thanks! Resized_20181130_074851_84.jpeg20181129_181319.jpg

But it only gets beter from here...
I feel like that everytime a seed popped. :circle-of-love:Congrats on the babies
You are fine.
Just go to the grow journal in progress and start a new thread (Your grow journal)

Thanks very much! I will do so. So, my seedlings under the MH given the above conditions will be ok? I know its overkill, but its what I have to work with.

Your babies will be fine until you get home :hugs:
Cfl can go really close, almost touching the baby, without doing harm
The closer the better, otherwise she will stretch... Not good.
They can live with cfl for a few days, no worries.
Light is better coming from top though.
Is it possible to do so with the cfl's?
I am not familiar with your other light, so all I can say is, as little power as possible, as close as you can, without burning the babies.
All so that they don't stretch.

You don’t say what wattage your metal halide is- but 4 feet away might be a little too far. As long as they are going to be warm enough, you might be better to just use the cfls to start, and put them a couple inches away.
