Sea of Green quality

Hey everyone - first thread on here- great site btw... Setting up a Sea of Green setup under my basement stairs... just wondering if the quality of product is affected at all by keeping plant size smaller. Mines a little larger than normal with about 5' between floor and top. Using 80w flourescents for vegetative stage and 400w HPS for flowering.
Oh, and any suggestions on what I should mix my Miracle Gro Potting Mix with?

I understand everyones favorite seems to be 'Fox Farms Ocean Forest Soil.' It supposedly has enough nutrients in it to sustain productive growth through the first month, although you'll surely find growers that add nutes from the start.
