Re: Scrumpdilly's First Time Grow - AK48 & White Widow Autoflower

Mind if I tag along ? White Widow is one of my all time favourite strains. It was the first of the really frosty strains I encountered (I also made a life long friend of the grower, that was over 20 years ago now. He has been helping me in my first grow, all be it from the other side of the world !) I fell in love with the really frosty bud that the 'white' strains produce. I haven't tried AK48, so I will look forward to seeing how you get along with that. I am 7 weeks into my first grow, so I may not have a ton of great advice, but I will try and help out where I can. What light cycle are you running ?
Please do! Nothing impressive about my white widow, but messing her up has given me 4 things so far to improve on for next time. 1- don't bend seedlings. Let them stretch and you can always lst later. 2- start with the veg and bloom lights on instead of just the veg. 3- make sure your soil is nice and mixed and aerated so you don't stunt the roots. 4- if they're autoflowers, start and finish them in one pot.

I am doing my first ever 'real' grow. I have grown a few bag seed plants that either just plodded along until they died or my cat ate them ! I have Chronic Regional Pain and nerve damage in my leg and PTSD from the accident. I am on a handful of medications and they all have bad side effects. I can replace all of them with a plant I grow myself - no real choice - the plant wins. I am about 8 weeks into my grow, I have learnt so much since I started, much like yourself ! I have battled the cold, condensation and several other calamitous situations - and the plants keep on going ! My first 3 are Girl Scout Cookies by Fast Buds, I didn't know they were Autos until I looked at their website to see how long to Veg them for ! I am now a bit of an Auto lover, they seem very forgiving and I love the speed they grow at. I bought some new seeds from Mephisto Genetics, I love the way they breed strains, very sexy plants ! They are really frosty and their yield is good for Autos. I got Blue Toof and Sour Crinkle, they gave me an extra bean in each of them - which is like someone handing you a bag of weed for free, nice ! - they also threw in 7 Auto Cush seeds, thats their auto version of Green Crack. They bred that as a baseline for their breeding, they don't sell it so I was ecstatic at getting something really unique for free. I planted one of each about 10 days back, the Sour Crinkle is flying, the other 2 were slower to pop.
Your plants are looking great, keep on doing what your doing, they will be beasts !

They are going to be little monsters jeeze they are bushing out nicely!

Getting not so little pretty quick! .

Just when I thought things were going well. . . looked all over Bender (white widow) with the jewelers loupe and couldn't find any signs of any pests or anything that would cause this. I swear if I have bugs there's going to be a nuclear winter for those motherf$!%&#$

Sometimes it's just from pinching young leaves during lst, they'll grow out with little cuts n things from small pinches n such as young leaves!

I've gottem everywhere, keep an eye out for pests or if it spreads but you should be fine!

That was the thing. There were no other spots like that anywhere else on Bender and none at all on Smalls. I looked on both sides of the leaves and stems of both girls. Sometimes I am unintentionally rough on the new growth when adjusting the lst. I really hope you're right Strange.

Just make a habit of looking under leaves and at your stem occasionally, watch to make sure it's not spreading and you'll catch any unruly pests before they get a chance.

Should be fine though .

I'm starting to think that is what caused the holes in my leaves as well. Havnt had further issues but if you want some peace of mind, grab some neem oil or safers soap, or both and give them a light spray once a week on top and bottom of leaves.
Was in the middle of asking if you thought maybe this is what happened to yours haha

My loupe came in and i cant find any trace of bugs or eggs. So guess i should relax but i am still going to spray them from time to time just to be safe.

Think goodness you don't have any pests.

Well that was a long day. Got home and everyone was already asleep so no pictures until tomorrow (if I get out of work early enough. The girls are a month old today! Being at the beginning of their 5th week, I was finally able to complete the FF nute trifecta. Still going at 50% FF nutes and 100% cal mag. No new damage so I'm convinced I was just being rough with Bender during lst. Pistils everywhere on both girls so looks like we'll be moving into flower mode any day now! Getting super stoked so let's keep this rolling.
