The South Bay Healing Center, one of San Jose's premier medical marijuana dispensaries that offers medical marijuana, is announcing the start of its Vendor Days to better educate and inform patient members of the marijuana club. Vendor Days will take place on the last Wednesday of every month.
"On Vendor Days, patients will have an opportunity to meet the bakers and business owners behind popular edible products that we carry," Pat Sullivan of South Bay Healing Center said. "Patients will be able to get baking tips for making their own medicated edibles, learn about proper dosage when consuming edibles, learn about safety and quality-assurance procedures taken by the edible producers, and receive free trial samples."
The Vendor Days will feature different vendors from 3 to 7 p.m. on the last Wednesday of every month. Edible vendors who will be participating in Vendor Days include Pete's Treats, The Bud Barber, Canna Catering, YAK edibles, Shaman Healers, Alpha Medicinal, Meta Milk, Irish Moss, Forest Nymph, Kiva Chocolates and Cheeba Chews.
There will also be one-on-one discussions with the baker and/or owner to answer any questions or concerns patients might have.
"I think it is important that patients know where their medicine comes from," Sullivan said. "They should be aware of the safety standards and precautions exercised by the edible producers at South Bay Healing Center. We only carry products made by people who take time and care to properly handle and test the products. It is essential that cannabis-infused products be made by professionals in clean environments to ensure the safety of our patients."
Edibles are a safe and effective way to medicate with cannabis, as there are no carcinogens from smoke. When eating cannabis, 100 percent of the active ingredients are absorbed into the body, compared to about 15 percent when smoking.
