Repotting while flowering

Is it not so smart to repot my female while in the latter half of flowering...reason for it...I'm running into the problem of trying to loosen up the soil after watering (after it drys) when I stir, poke around so air can get back down there I have way too many roots to worry about...thought I could mabey throw it into this huge pot with new miraclegro moisture control soil

-good idea or not?

If your plant is root bound, you should probably re pot it. It will suffer some shock, but minimal if done correctly. Right now your plant is for root space, ignoring the energy necessary for those developing buds.

But I would stay away from the MG soil(s), especially during flower. Try to find nute free quality soils. I use Fahard, other's here swear by Fox Farms.

I meant to say.....your plant is fighting itself for root space. Guess I shouldn't toke and type:Rasta:

If you need assistance with that re pot, just ask, glad to help.

yeah...just didnt wanna over analyize...I have a pot thats double the size its in now...miracle grow isnt good??

Hey bro... welcome...

i've repotted during flowering when neccessary.. and i prefer to only do it early on if i need to...

take this tip from me tho, if you are going to repot during flowering, all you have to do is tie a plastic bag over your plant and then repot.. the plastic bag prevents any soil or perlite from sticking to your buds or leaves!

take care :peace:

thanks for that...I just dont know if its worth repotting or not...but the roots I know are everywhere...risk vs reward...would you do it or leave it if it was yours??

I would definetly repot because your girls need the room for those buds to reach their full potential, im sure your plants will greatly appreciate you once its done. Just try your hardest to not tear any of the roots when your doing it. Goodluck brother

Miracle Grow soil has it's place. If you don't want to play with nutes at all, MG soil may be a decent choice. Most folks discover that the MG soil is less than optimal and want to edit the nutes themselves. When you use MG soil, the time release nutes make it very dangerous to add nutes. Be sure you're comfortable with a nutrient regime before you change the way you're feeding your flowering babies.

I've read of folks poking perferated straws into their soil in an attempt to allow O2 to get to the root zone better.

Cheers!

i don't know if this will be of any use or not

ok for starters i recently payed for a clone well rooted when i recived it. But the friend of a friend i got it from put it into soil and i want to put the plant into a DWC bubbler bucket.

so i took the plant out of the pot and took a bucket of water and put the root ball into the water and massaged the roots to free all the soil from the roots it took 1 week for it to recover from that and has been doing great in the DWC .

this part might be the most interesting for you about one month after that my friend called said the guy had 3 plants he didn't have room for in the flower room and i could have them. 2 sour desiel about 2' tall and 1 chronic a little over 1' tall.
i kept them in vegg. For about 2 weeks with no problems. But went to change the lights over to flower and found out the soil was way to dense almost like a dense mud and would not dry out after i turned the lights back to 12 instead of the 18 hours.

then since i couldn't water like i should ot been the plants got nute def. All had a N.c. And one also got a Mg. Def. Plus like u i thought the roots wern't getting enough O2.

so the plants had been in flower only one week . Talked with the guy from the hydo store ( who is very cool and will talk about anything with you and told me i had a 50/50 shot of them living threw a cleaning off the roots transplant ) i decided to transplant and clean the roots off like i did before with the clones

these were a lot bigger of plants and older but i did it the same way as with the clone and got about 90% of the mud like soil off and out of the root system ( i know i know it shocked the hell out of the plants) and went with a 50% soil and 50% perlite mix. I also put some roots organic powder( a benificial bacteria ) right belowe the roots (they seat right on the powder then coverd them up with more soil) had to tie the plants to a stake to keep them from falling over

3 days later all the plants had recovered from the N. def. And were doing great exept the one that also had the Mg. Def.( that one had a root ball that was twice as small as the other 2) it had all the leafs Druppy and limp 3 days after the transplant . But 5 days after transpant it was fine

didn't see any new growth for just over 1 week . But now they are doing great. the roots are nice and oxygenated and the soil dries out nicely and i have to water every3 days. it has been 3 weeks since the transplant and they are right on track have some nice looking plants, that is flowering nicely.

good shit Zierf...I did it man...held my breath the whole time...I FIRST TOOK A LITTLE SPADE SHOVEL AND TRIED MY DAMNEDEST TO DIG ALL THE WAY AROUND (AGAINST THE SIDE OF THE POT-TO AVOID THE ROOTS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE)...FINALLY, I HAD FREED IT UP ENOUGH TO PULL THE PLANT OUT WITH THE ROOTS PRETTY MUCH NOT DISTURBED...I TRIED TO LOOSEN UP THE HARDER ORIGINAL SOIL @ THE ROOTS AND PLACED THE WHOLE PLANT AND ALL INTO THE LARGER POT...I HAD ALREADY PUT MIRACLE GRO "MOISTURE CONTROL" SOIL IN THE POT (IN BETWEEN 1/3 AND 1/2 FULL)...THEN PUT THE SAME SOIL ALL AROUND MY PLANT AND TWEAKED, PUSHED, AND PRESSED DOWN THE SOIL WHILE TRYING TO KEEP IT AS LOOSELY PACKED AS POSSIBLE...NOTE: MIRACLE GRO "MOISTURE CONTROL" IS THE SAME SOIL I HAVE USED THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE GROW...THEN, I REDID THE LIGHTING HEIGHTS AND STUFF AND WATERED THE HELL OUT OF IT...LAST, I TOOK A STRAW AND PUSHED ABOUT 20-25 LITTLE HOLES IN THE OUTTER SOIL FOR AIR TO GET TO THE NEW ROOTS WHEN AND IF THEY GET OUT THAT FAR...FOLLOWED BY A GOOD OL' MIST DOWN I TURNED MY FAN ON AND MY GIRL AND I ARE MORE COMFORTABLE NOW IN OUR NEW POT!! HA HA

DID I DO ALRIGHT...ANY MORE SUGGESTIONS??

^^^oh, was I ever...ha ha

Yes, I’m in need of assistance. Thank you very much for your help. Greatly appreciated.
Recently had to go impromptu, lower back surgery, so I was not able to properly care.
I now have a female in a 2 quart pot.
It’s 9/7/2023 LA.
she’s flowering and only 3’ tall
Would it be OK to transplant now
And what’s the best way of repotting not to shock the plant?
Thank you.
