Remember Columbian Gold? Then we're probably close in age

Started when I was 13, 1976. Quit on January 1 1999. 23 glories years. Then a job opportunity came along that was so good I retired at 49.

Couple months ago, my right hip started hurting. Then got so bad I couldn't move my foot from the gas to the break to drive my truck. Smelled something familiar from a neighbors house, walked down and asked my new friend to share. A shared joint later and I was dancing the jig!

Fixed income, I can't afford to be buying all the time. So, here I am trying to grow my own. Hopefully the investment pays off sooner than later.

There's no such thing as try. Either you do it, or you dont.

Yoda :)

Retired at 49? You sure have the time to commit and dedicate yourself to your plants. It's gonna pay off right after the first harvest.

BTW, I'm not the spring chicken myself, been working from home with a lot of time to spend with my plants, that's why I'm confident you're gonna make it.

Gads, my Dad used to say something like that. Not try, do. 10 years old, I'm like, all I can do is try. Says it's the wrong attitude. Long line of do-it-yourself(ers).

Then I had kids, passing on the DIY thing and one day I almost said to my oldest. Not try, do. Stopped myself and realized what he meant all those years.

Told my son, you can do anything you want. If you've failed it's because you quit.

I bought seeds from the ministry of cannabis.
Indica Mix - Combination of 2 seeds of Big Bud XXL, 2 seeds of Northern Lights MoC and 2 seeds of Zensation
Sativa mix - Combination of 2 seeds of Carnival, 2 seeds of Ultra White Amnesia and 2 seeds of Hay-Z

I'm just got another tent. 8'X4'X80". Planning on 3 hydroponic plants - the system I designed myself and 1 or 2 soil depending on room.

I have a small grow tent in my garage (32"x32"x60") with one plant whose seed game from a bag I bought. Don't even know if it's a female yet.

I'll post pics when it's all setup.

How to Make a Grow Journal

I seem to remember Conradino saying that there is an authentic strain of Colombian gold available now. I can't remember where I read him saying that. You could post the question on the thread below and you will quickly get an answer. It's a fascinating thread regardless. Well worth a read.

Landrace Genetics 101

Great read. I remember all those. We lived in Michigan then. Thai stick, red-bud... those were all just myths. We got columbian, once in a great while the columbian gold, mostly we got what we called dirt weed. Then every once in a while someone would try to grow their own. Home grown. Could smoke a garbage bag and get nothign more than a headache.
