Relocation info needed any input greatly appreciated

Ok guys So where I currently live here in the states Cannabis is still illegal. I use cannabis for medical purposes to treat my ptsd and insomnia. it looks like my state will be one of the last to ever legalize and my frustration with having to hide and be stupid secretive is causing me even more problems. since I don't want to be on cocktails of pills I am considering relocating to another states that has legalized atleast MMJ. I wanted to get others input on which state that has legalized is the best to relocate too? Colorado seems amazing but I think it prob gets too cold for me. GIve me some pro cons of the states and if you relocated for MMJ Id like to hear about your experiences as to what to expect ect.
 
Michigan has a rapidly growing mmj industry. Recreational is going on the ballot in November. The scenery is beautiful but winter sucks. If your looking for City Life try another state ours are pretty lacking unless your in a tourist town and that can get expensive compared to local income. But the sticks are nice. Hahaha

This could shape into an interesting thread. Curious to hear others opinions as well.

Ive been hearing a lot about Michigan but the winters did have me turned off about there. I just cant tolerate negative temps, lol
 
Thankfully were not as frigid as some places. We spend about a month around 0° the other 5 it's only freezing. You learn to hibernate. Nice time for an indoor hobby (like gardening!) Admittedly a bit to do still; fishing, rabbit season, snowmobiles, skiing, etc. The Summers make it all worth it though. There really is nothing like Summer Time in Northern Michigan. Haha
 
Depends some on if you need an income, as then gotta go with where you can find work. Pac NW it can rain a lot at times (or feels like months on end) some of the States get cold in certain areas. South of OR/WA down in California can be like that in the northern part not as much in the southern part, just some areas there is a lot of people per square mile, so depends what you used to. Make sure it readily available before you move some where, as in example some Cities or County's stores aren't allowed there here in OR (they were given the option of opting out of the ballot measure when it passed, they just don't get any share of the Sin Tax money is the only incentive for them to allow it). As southern/eastern Oregon is more conservative like the southern States, as they didn't have a majority yes vote on it there and only passed due to bigger cities on the West side of State. What I have heard WA and CA have some cities like that too, but only by what I have heard so unsure on that.

Yea those are def good things to consider. I don't necessarily have to work a full time job as I have an income source but Would Like to get started as a budtender possibly.

That may be tough, or at least around here as they gave licenses to anyone that met the requirements and paid the license fee (same with licensed growers/producers), so it is a way over supply and demand thing until a bunch of places go under. Last figure I saw the "legal" grow grew 3X the amount that was sold the year prior, so prices have dropped like a rock. Not saying impossible, but just might be a tough occupation to get into especially when you not from the area.
 
I figured the demand wasnt very high thats why theres not a immediate need to get a job as soon as i relocate but i love cannabis and have no prob taking my time and making connections to get my foot in. I was just curious about which states people liked the best and why
 
I would like to say Nevada but this place gets hot. There is plenty to do here if your into site seeing. Housing is expensive here but low taxes helps.
 
Sounds like you need to go on a road trip ;):rofl: . Do you plan on growing your own? As some States allow it and some that are legal don't, and some variance between Rec and Med also. Same goes for the cost and ease of getting a Med card if you are going that route has to be weighed in. Actually now that I think of it there is a variance in what "medical conditions" qualify in a State if you are going the Med Card route, so that could very well factor into your decision also. Just have to web search the governing bodies involved in each State (rules change with the wind so be best place to get your info as a lot of "old" info out on the web I imagine). In example Oregon allows 4 plants per residence for Rec if all parties are 21 and I believe it is 6 plants for Med, but depends how much you use if the yearly fee and cost of Doctor visit offsets the 20% Sin Tax if you just stick with Rec (me I don't trust the Feds until they get their head out of their behind and declassify it, so I'd rather not be on a "list" in a database, as Rec is anonymous as you have to show ID to prove your age and purchase, but they are not allowed to keep records of who made purchases in this State).

I do plan on growing my own. I love growing. I have checked most states that have legalized and my condition is approved by all ive read about. I would rather not be in a database but I would still be ok with it as cannabis is my medicine and as long as i can legally get and have it Ill be slot less stressed.

Anywhere on the Left coast would probably work for you.

I live in a small town in southern New Mexico. The state has some good things going for it on the cannabis front. While we are not recreationally legal yet, the medical laws and approach is better than a lot of states. It is rather easy to get a card now. You can flower 4 plants and have 12 more that are not flowering. You can also have possession of half a pound of bud or a respectable amount of extracts. There is a formula for it, but I don’t know the amounts.

Santa Fe is rather expensive and cold. Albuquerque is the largest city and it is not that large. Las Cruces is the third largest city and has a population of about 130,000. It is very hot there.

The population of the state is about evenly split between Caucasian and Spanish with about 5 or 10% Native American.

If you are OK with small towns, this little town has a population of 10 thousand and two dispensaries.

Home prices and rent are low. Overall, except for Las Alamos, it is a lot less expensive than Colorado.

The road trip idea sounds like a good plan.

Oklahoma has one of the best mmj laws in the usa. I know its hard to believe. You have to watch the news because our legislature is horrible and would like to f with it...but got burned last time they tried. Our weather is warm but the tornado seasons scare some away. Its great living in one of the college towns if you like music and football. There are plenty of good eating establishments and bars, and the casinos are fun. Our casinos have cheap concerts with peoole like Lyndsey Buckingham, Alan Parsons, Don Felder, Jim Rattigan and so on..cost of living is cheaper than Colorado but Colorado is close by...as is Arkansas, Dallas texas etc.

i had honestly not thought about Oklahoma but I'm glad you put it in the hat. I'l def be looking into it as well. How bad is Tornado season lol
