Relaxed's 2014 Outdoor Medical Grow

Sounds like you've had a little adventure lester. Funny stuff

I dunno dude. I don't see a lot of weight coming off those plants. I'm starting 14 plants right now and have never really got serious about outdoor growing. People around here tend to lean away from wanting outdoor. Everyone wants the heavy duty shit grown under the lights but i'm gonna give it a go and try these ones in an outdoor greenhouse. 7 are Mattanuska strain developed up in Alaska. Not sure if i spelled that right and the other is a Blueberry crossed with White widow so I will post pics in a month and see how many i gotta kill. Some will be males. Like i said, I've never grown outdoor before. i used to kicking them into bud after eight weeks of veg stage. LOL, i gotta feeling they're gonna be huge.

Welcome the the 420 community jusjo When you make a journal I will subscribe. I really like seeing exotic strains .

I've read of many instances of Auto's not flowering until a 12/12 photoperiod. Sorry about the re-veg. But if you think about it, breeding rudaris with indicas or sativas is pretty unnatural. I read up a lot on that strain. Definitely perks my interest but I think I'm going to stick with photoperiod strains albeit feminized.

I'm always doing tons of research for potential new strains to grow, currently growing six strains. I really want to grow G13 as it was the first smoke I ever had. Finding it in a pure, Indica form seems to be a daunting task. There is one company I've found with them in stock. Problem is that they are not affiliated with 420magazine and, in my humble opinion seem kinda shady. That and $200 for two seeds make me suspicious. Never know and I can't afford to be burned by unscrupulous vendors.

Plant's are looking great though. Not sure if it was the lighting but some of the plants have a pale hue indicative of needing more N. I'm guessing it was the ambient light though. And, your OG grasshoppers look identical to my Desert Grown.

Much love my friend!!!

Yeah like I said I'm not really sold on autoflowering lol I might as well plant my regular seeds but still the idea that a plant will express itself differently throughout each life is fascinating, for instance, since everything genetically is probability based, I could see very drastically different results with a different batch exposed to different environmental conditions. Perhaps more or less consistent, but atleast that hardiness factor which was the main point of advertisement, lived to be true. The potency of the herbs will be a different story. No worries about the re-veg, if I known they were living more like a true Sativa than a real autoflower I'd of put them into force flowering a long time ago, but I just was rolling with the flow, now that they are in force flower they're doing fine, and the new batch is going into flower now. So we can't just put a sweeping judgement on things just yet, because there may be some value to the ruderalis hybrids for winter purposes in my region. But generally, I am not super impressed with the current floral structures, but the things continue to amaze me and are getting better as we speak so I'm really not all that worried. I trimmed a few of the foxtails today and also fertilized with a much heavier solution of Earth Juice's 0-8-1 bat guano, I call it the pterodactyl guano because the stuff is gnarley. Oh and yeah that was the lighting that made 'em look pale. Anyway thanks for dropping by Josh, positive vibrations to you and the Wifey, and don't forget I love having you follow my journals. Be Well my friend. :circle-of-love:

@ trichomes, all of us growers started out at the same level. The more you read on the topic, the better gardener you become. I lurked on here for around 6 months before starting my first journal. Luckily Lester was the first person to sub. He has taught me a lot. Many, many, MANY folks on here have taught me a lot and I am ungratefully-thankful for that knowledge.

Keep growing and learning. Everything will fall into place. The more you put into it on your part knowledge wise, the more you will reap. It's been said before by others but I'll repeat, you don't need the most expensive equipment to make some of the best medicine. Look at my set-up. I regularly pull 1/4 lb. + dried weight/month in a 4'x4' flowering tent.

"Knowledge is power". We're all here for the same reason, for the promotion of this wonderful plant and to support our peers' efforts.

Hey Brotha the plants are coming along nicely
Hope you had a Good day and is that thing a locust?

Thanks! :) And apparently the difference between a grasshopper and a locust is not clear-cut, it has to do with behavior, if theres high populations they swarm together and they'd be called locusts, but if the population is low a locust could act like a grasshopper. I couldn't bring myself to crush his guts out so I relocated him out to the street away from my garden, but I wouldn't want any swarms around here so maybe I shoulda just crushed him out. Those things can be treacherous, hard to imagine a swarm of those things coming at me, they'd of cleared my tent out in seconds  I am really glad I got him out and I think we're all good now :thumb: Mahalo and Aloha. Have a good Night and a Better Tomorrow Brotha :high-five:

I want to share this thread by yours truly. Not my new grow journal, waiting on the new house for that. But, I think there is a couple little gems for all of us growers and a lot of room for questions or debate on the subject.

Hello Rooster, you seem to be a real-life Rooster, I always see your comments in the morning when I wake up. Gonna be hard to inspect that tree of yours with a broken hand, did I ever tell you the green loopers can go unseen very easily? Not to be a downer, but they don't leave a papertrail, but sometimes you can see where they've been when sometimes they munch holes in the leaves accompanying their "home-bud-site", it's worse than that though, if it gets really bad, and I've seen it happen with both the borers and loopers, the worms don't come out until the bud starts to dry, and even then they become some stingy bastards, at that point they are literally defending their HOME, they actually perk their bodies up into a "stout" position and try to bite, they get mad, I can sense it in them. So during the dry sometimes they silk-web out and hit the road, but for others I have actually had problems with the worms coming out inside the curing jar after it cuts out the oxygen to them, they'd start crawling up the walls of the jars (gross right?) Well since then I've learned to inspect MUCH more diligently, and with a tree that size you just have to hope they haven't found it. It is a real gut-wrenching feeling when they do. I am praying for you Rooster, I'll be by your thread later. :circle-of-love:

Hi There Lester

To Be honest i have been fighting worms like mad....lucky my wife is standing in for me with the inspections so all is not lost.

That is creepy having worms come out in the jar...I am going to do Bud Washing That will include a Peroxide wash to hopefully kill all eggs and so on. I see you have been on the hunt again

I have been catch in up on your journal and them ladies look fiiine!!! love the mirror image looks trippy!REPS to you for that one!!

Best and Blessed to you my friend!!!

Lester, looks like I found where the laughs are today, took hours to find the 420 party,

I spent hours eating stale popcorn with no outbursts of laughter. UNTIL,:idea::idea:

I remembered the moth rant where the trespass post moth picture was,

that woodchip next to the moth (best moth kill in 2014), was HILARIOUS!! I hope the rant made you smile, my friend. I did not mean to rain on the "sandal kill", first, the Lester crack back had me grinning big-time, then SABO with the Lethal Sandal, he had the belly laugh started, & Rooster, that crazy So. African comes in hard, had me ROTFLMFAO!

Thanks guys, you are all precious!!:cheertwo:

HazMat shut me down for the day, they found all the needles TD left in my yard.

SABO fixed the broom, he better be on time Monday AM

Bring a mop too SABO, I let the Tiger loose on the HazMat team, when the boss asked me if I had a permit.

If any body needs a job, HazMat has 3 new high risk jobs available.

Lester, a parting tip, if you emailed the moth pic to a scientist for ID help, if he sees that woodchip, your email address is already blocked & the reply will never come back!

Garden Faerie will ID that bad boy for you in minutes:high-five:

Oh HELL Trichs once again :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

:adore: :circle-of-love:

Best and Blessed to all!!

Cat just showed up with a mouse in her mouth, she sure is happy. All I saw was Fang coming running up from the backyard jungle with a mouse and I heard a "squeal", and then it was done. :goodjob:

Nothing suspect in that wording, lol :thumb:, good animal story this time Lester,

any luck training him to swat moths yet?

give that black cat a bone!

About the skunk, we really did wake up to a skunk in the trap lol, just so happens it was a coon trap so we didn't want to take any chances, luckily it was relaxed and didn't let go in our yard. We were trying to relocate this coon that had been coming by lately, a big 'ol one. And you're right, nothing a little bit of regular traffic can't take care of. No reason to bust out the ether.

Fang will swat at anything- shadows, air, flies, moths. It was just a great sight to see her leaping out of the ivy with a fresh catch, she tried to eat the thing and actually managed to rip its head off so I had to take it away from her so she didn't eat it and get sick. She then proceeded to have a chicken dinner. I'm guessing with the amount of cat food this cat has ate so far shes eaten atleast 4 entire chickens if you add it all up

Good to hear your fighting the good fight, sorry about the worms. Hope it subsides for ya or at least you guys can get a handle on it :Namaste:

Good morning Lester!

I see you have some more visitors in your garden. As Dorothy from Oz would say "Skunks, Coons, Grasshoppers & Mice, Oh My"!
With all of you visitors that you have, it just shows me that your Eco system is balanced. All those little critters & insects aren't stopping by for no reason. It is the natural environment that is attracting them. Not all pest or critters are bad, they need one another to keep Natures checks and balances.

And if those checks and balances get out of control, just rely on "The Quickest Sandals in the West"!

Have a Blessed Day!
