Question on taking a clone from a mother plant?

Hello everyone, I have several strains I am getting ready to clone and all except my white widow have smaller lower branches that I can cut right at the stalk and get some perfect size cuttings for cloning. My white widow is a little different in the fact that all the branches including all the bottom branches are very long and shoot up. My question is can I cut the branch in the middle instead of at the stalk and take my clone? If I cut it at the stalk the clone would be like 16 inches long. Also it would take a lot off the mother. You can take a cutting and turn it into a clone from anywhere on the plant, even the very top. The lower the branch however, the better the chances of it taking root. Also, nothing keeps you from cutting down the 16 inch long branch into a normal sized 4 or 5 inch clone once you have cut it away from the main plant.

You can cut it anywhere you like. I would try and leave a node on the branch for two more tops to grow on mother.
