Question on Flos and Metal Halide

i just purchased a 400w metal halide lamp (on its way in mail) and i also have two 48.5" Long double bulb flourescent ballasts. I am thinking of ways to build a grow box and need to know if it is okay to put flo's close to metal halide (underneath or on the side)

if you have any experience with this please tell me all you know. thankyou

I'd use the floro's for close up direct lighting from the side... and yeah the can be in the same box as the halide... it would be better if the balasts weren't but only because letting them get to hot can shorten their life.

so do you think i could put the flos vertical in two corners and the Metal halide in the center?

oh yeah... if you can keep the box cool enough for the plant.. its cool enough for the lamps.
