Question about starting seeds in rockwool for hydroponics

Just about to sprout a seed for the first time, and I've read the guides in the how to grow section, but I'm wondering if I have to soak the rockwool in 5.8ph water for any amount of time to condition the rockwool before I place the seeds in? Or any specific ph? Don't wanna stuff this up!
