Question about leaves

In a lot of the photos I see here, the leaves look thick as hell. My plants don't seem to have leaves that thick. Is it strain? Does this happen later in flowering? Or is it just the camera?

Most times it is related to the intensity of light. The leaves under my 1000W MH produce thick and large leaves. As light levels diminish with lower wattage lamps, so does the density of foliage.

Ahh, thanks Moose! The thick leaves must also create energy more efficiently, thus the higher yeild in flowering... damn. Looks like HPS wins again
