hi i have a small plant i just put out side but the leaves started curling they stayed green but got brittle and curly what caused this?

Are they curling upwards toward the sun or downwards? If upwards I believe it NEEDS water and if downward I believe its been OVER-WATERED.

down wards and there might be some pests but i dont think they are causing it

Is it too hot outside? Or too much sun? Did you slowly break them in to the change from in to out?

Sounds like its a little too hot outside. Try taking the plant and putting it in the shade for some in-direct sunlight during the day.

I believe you are most likely right, I am pretty sure he didn't use the hardening process of only giving the plants a few hours of direct sunlight a day for 2 to 4 days and very young plants could dry out fast after such a transplant.
Water and shade with a lil prayer is the only option with the best chance of recovery, but yeild will already be compromised if the damage is too great.
