Probably a dumb question but better to ask than hurt myself.

I've looked around and cant find an answer. Though I have no intention of doing this unless I KNOW it's safe, I am curious to know if you can wire an electronic ballast to a standard ES socket and then screw in a mogul GES adapter without blowing everything up? Forgive my ignorance on this, but I've spent most of my life smoking weed and writing rock tunes. :)

May i ask as to why you want to do this?? I doubt it would be safe to do so, it may work for a bit but also could cause probs..
So be careful, i am not 100% on this but if you can, just try to stick to what is meant to be done, any altering may blow up other stuff you have connected to the ballast..
Later mate..

More of a curiosity actually. I don't believe there's usually a ground wire on a standard socket for one. That alone is enough to say no go for me. Just wondering if it could be a voltage thing as well I guess.:hmmmm:

I started thinking about it as I got to the end of a fruitless search for a mogul socket at a few area hardware stores today. I have one that I was gonna drop one of those mongoloid CFL's in a while back, and then my brain began to ponder.
