Release: PRESS CONFERENCE ON SF CARDS TO BE HELD ON JULY 14TH

SAN FRANCISCO, CA. A press conference will be held to discuss the San
Francisco Department of Public Health Medical Cannabis ID Card Program on
Friday, July 14, 2000 at 9:00 AM at 101 Grove Street.

Several public officials will join prominent medical marijuana patients.
Currently, the following speakers are scheduled to address the press
conference:

--Dr. Mitch Katz, Director of the Department of Public Health
--Supervisor Mark Leno,
--District Attorney Terrence Hallinan
--Assistant Chief of Police Prentice Sanders
--Wayne Justmann of the San Francisco Patients' Resource Center.
--Steve Kubby, AMMA National Director

The first Medical Cannabis ID Card was issued and approved today for Wayne
Justmann of the San Francisco Patients' Resource Center. The card was
issued by the San Francisco Department of Public Health, representing the
first time a public agency has stepped in to protect the medical rights of
sick, disabled and dying patients, granted four years ago by the voters of
California.
