An alleged B.C. pot smuggler who travelled 4,400 km thought he was home free
until he stepped off a train at Union Station with his $200,000 stash. The
suspect was arrested Monday after RCMP drug-detecting dog Bandit, who was
patrolling the crowd, got wind of the 10- kilos of bud marijuana and some
magic mushrooms in a man's luggage.
RCMP Sgt. Gary Harvey said the dog is part of a Mountie team that patrols
airports and train, bus and truck depots.
"The dog was there as the suspect was disembarking," Harvey said.
Stephen Hugh Campbell, 36, of Vancouver, has been charged for possession of
narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
