Not true. The transdermal patch contains a chemical that renders the skin as a semi-permiable membrane, hence allowing the intended medication to pass through the skin. I am a retired Pharmacist from Purdue University, and have been working on developing a transdermal patch. I will keep you posted on this site as to my progress. You may consider a sub-lingual method of administration. This works quite well in fact, since the mucosa under your tongue is a semi-permeable membrane which allows for a speedy blood level intro.
