PHOENIX - Two weeks ago, the DEA raided a medical marijuana clinic in Tempe, arresting its two owners.
Wednesday, police raided another pot club, this time in north Phoenix at I-17 and Bell Road -- the 2811 Club.
All of this comes despite the fact that the use of medical marijuana is legal in Arizona to those who have prescriptions.
Allan Sobol told us last week that the place he runs isn't a dispensary. Marijuana is not sold, it's donated -- and that's why his club hasn't been raided.
But Phoenix police detectives believe the club twisted Arizona's medical-marijuana law for profit.
Wednesday, they served a search warrant on the 2811 Club, seizing records, cash, medical marijuana, and the club's video surveillance system. Police say they received complaints from the community that marijuana was being bought and sold there.
They also questioned six employees during the raid. The case has been submitted to the County Attorney, who will decide if anyone will be charged.
Allan Sobol told us that nothing illegal was taking place. He says a judge ordered they remain open while they are in litigation with the Attorney's General Office.
Sobol says today's move was purely political.
