Ok, so early this morning I decided to harvest several of my autoflowers as they were pretty much done. I went to one of my plots, chopped about 5 ounces worth and was done and heading back by 03:30am. I had to go early in the morning when no one is about as the plants are in a field surrounded by woodland that is frequented by dog walkers and the spot is also overlooked by 5-6 large multimillion pound (£) apartments which are only about 250 yards away in the distance. All their balconies and windows are situated where they can look out directly into the overgrown field where my plants are located. They would never be able to spot a weed plant from that distance but they could certainly spot me moving around in broad daylight from back there which is why I went at night. Plus I had to walk alongside a main road to get back to my street so I would rather have gone at a time when the road would have no traffic on. Basically I didn't want to bump into anyone or get stopped by anyone, especially a cop when I had a rucksack full of weed!
Anyhow I had finished cropping, left the field and followed the trail some 250 yards out to the road near to where the apartments were. Like any typical British autumn/fall morning, there was a heavy widespread fog everywhere. I was about halfway up the road when I noticed beams from a car light coming through the fog towards me so I quickly darted into the woods opposite but noticed the car light fade and nothing came past. I waited another couple of minutes just to be sure before continuing on the road. I had walked for maybe 50 yards when, thanks to the fog, I suddenly found myself face to face with a patrol car that was parked up on the side of the road. I froze solid for a moment unsure whether they had seen me or not and unsure whether to sprint into the woods. But before I could do anything the headlights flicked on, full beam, blinding me, and the sheriff car accelerated and drove straight at me. I sprinted into the woods and the car followed to the point that it's bumper must have been touching the tree-line. I heard his car door burst open and the cop jump out right behind me as he attempted to give chase and he was shouting 'STOP' several times. At first he was only about 10 feet behind me when he first got out of car but without looking back I could hear his shouts and footsteps getting fainter fairly quickly as I was clearly outrunning him. I could see the torch beams shining past me as I ran but it didn't stop me whacking my knees and head into branches and tree trunks every couple of seconds. Eventually I stopped & ducked down once I had got about 100m into the woods as my legs were all cut up from brambles and stingers which is probably why he stopped giving chase. Either that or it was because he was the regular donut eating, coffee slurping, 350lb, 6'4 overweight cop that patrols my neighbourhood. I definitely recognised that putrid husky voice of his, it was deputy Samuel Jackson for sure, or the 'refrigerator with legs' as us stoners call him round here. And yes I have had run-ins with him before and yes it was for weed related reasons so he knows me.
I'm not sure how long had passed, maybe about 5-10 minutes while I was crouched down in the woods hiding but I couldn't hear anything around me. It was actually totally silent and I was getting creeped out by the dark of the woods. I was reluctant to get my phone out tho in case the light attracted any attention or gave away my position so I just waited there patiently. Next thing I know tho I start to hear the sound of a helicopter getting closer and closer until it is eventually almost above me. I got up and started running through the woods again, this time with my iPhone torch out since it wouldn't have made a difference since the police would obviously be following my movement with heat sensing infrared. I was still carrying my rucksack full of weed and I was about 200-300 yards into the woods and going deeper when the helicopters loud speaker came on & started telling me to 'freeze' and to 'lie on the ground' otherwise they would 'put me down with force'. I didn't have a clue what to do but I knew for an absolute fact that the police wouldn't be able to get to me or do shit this far in the woods unless they abseiled down out of the helicopter. Even directing ground units in from above would be pointless since I was constantly on the move so no ground unit would be able to reach me, at least not while it was dark still. Basically I was just waiting for the chopper to head back to base to refuel then I would sprint as far away as I possibly could or toss the rucksack somewhere to come back for. The helicopter continued to follow me and by now I assume I was about half a mile into the woods when it suddenly dropped off and started flying back in the direction it arrived from, presumably heading back to base. I thought 'yesssss, I can do this, I can get away' in my head. But no sooner had it turned back that another helicopter suddenly arrived taking its place. Before it got close to me tho I quickly stashed my rucksack behind a log next to a path in the woods, hoping I could come back and find it later. I then thought about walking straight back in the direction of the road and just accepting the inevitable, an eluding/fleeing police or resisting charge which was surely unavoidable now. Instead I decided to sit in the woods, almost in protest and out of defiance. I wasn't going to make it easy for them and in my head I was hoping the helicopter would fuck off and I would get away. Well half an hour later the helicopter did start heading back. I was sat there waiting for the other helicopter to return in it's place but much to my surprise it didn't. I straight away got up, grabbed my rucksack again that was still nearby and using my iPhone torch & compass I started running southwest. Literally 15 minutes later I was at the edge of the woods near the village and I could see a police van parked at the end of the road where I was initially spotted. Using the woods as cover I ran up towards the park and then hopped several neighbours fences to get back to my house while avoiding all of the streets in case of the cops spotting me. I got in through my back door just as the sun was coming up at 6:40am. My parents were still in bed and thankfully I still had my weed!!! It actually turned out there was a carjacking & shooting just south of London at 6am this morning which would explain why the choppers disappeared and didn't come back. They had to go one county over to assist in the chase...
Before anyone says I should have just acted cool and not panicked when I saw the cop car, well I was dressed like a burglar in all black at 3:30am, with a rucksack full of weed, 5+ ounces. Do the math...
Anyway, I know I should seriously lay low for a while now, or move away altogether even. The problem I have is that I have another 2 Autos as well 5 Photoperiods in the same grow spot which would involve me accessing the same road in order to reach them and I would have to come back with them along the same road, or at least some of the road. I can use the woods again but to get to the trail that leads to the field I have to travel up at least 150 yards of that road I was spotted on. The problem is all my plants are nearly done, like they will literally be ready next week. Is it worth it? Should I risk it and go back and crop them or should I just forget about it? I'm even thinking of sneaking out of town for a few weeks if I can 2bh.
