My tent is not massive but i have a scrubbbing kit
s-l1600-a3.jpg

It does not seem to do much? I have the air pushing out of the ducting so not towards the carbon filter. Although not needed to use yet.
I thought it would keep the tent cool etc but temps are at around 32-36c

I think i need
s-l1600-a2.jpg

to go on the bottom outlet to push air in?

If i run both LED the temp is soaring to 36 easily.
But i know i need to aim for 27-29c.

Am i wrong ? What item do you recommend to cool, how should i do my set up correctly?
Please help

Forget the bathroom fan it wont help a thing but may make it worse by adding resistance to the exhaust blower up-top. Can we get a little more information? Maybe your tent size and a few pictures of your setup along with what lights you're using and the temperature outside your tent?

The pictures are there,
The lights are 136W LED Spectra, Tent size is : 60x60x140,
Only one light is on, i have a fan pointing towards the light, then the Kit which is listed above, thats all, thanks for help

Yea, you need to use the 420 mag upload and gallery. Mods will remove your pics unless you do. Click the gallery tab at the top to read it. You should be able to run 3 or 4 of those in there. How about pictures of YOUR SETUP? That way issues may get spotted.

Ok I made it leave the back end instead of the top, I think the Thermometer is broken? gonna check today because these LED lights run pretty darn cool, So cant understand why would be hotter than 30.
Although i purchased a HPS 300w and it made the tent 66 degrees, so maybe it shot something inside the thermostat?
Will purchase a new Thermostat, Is there anything i can do to improve the airflow? I think that fan is just abit poxy and does not do much.

Recommendations for upgrade on the fan?
And more soil is defiantly needed but did not have much to work with originally.

Cheers

LED's, unfortunately, can't be cooled the way MH or HPS bulbs can, so the only thing you've got at your disposal, short of bying an A/C unit, is increasing your airflow in the tent. For that, you need as much extracting power as you can afford. You should aim to exchange the air volume inside your growspace every minute.

The air volume inside your tent is 0.5 m2. You multiply that by 60, add 25%to the result (to compensate for carbon filter drag) and you get the power of extraction you need in m3 per minute. Now, multiply that by 60 and you get the same, only per hour.

If you feel really adventurous, you could try something like this to cool down your growspace :)

So i should put an intake to push air in at the bottom and an out-take
Do you think that the fan is what i need?
TT 125 High Power in line Mixed Flow 5'' Bathroom Extractor Fan + FREE DUCTING | eBay
I need to get this sorted so your suggestion is very helpful.
Perhaps Upgrading the crappy black thing for a better one so maybe 2x sets of TT 125 High Power in line Mixed Flow 5'' Bathroom Extractor Fan + FREE DUCTING | eBay
One on the intake , One on the out-take?
Its 30 degrees here so it dont help.

You don't need an intake fan. Passive intake is enough.

As far as the particular brand or model is concerned, I can't recommend any except the one I'm using, and that is Chech made "Prima Klima". You have the formula to calculate the strength needed and the paricular brand you want to buy should be entirely your choice. It's always value for money. Trying to get as much as you can, with what you can afford.

Another thing that might shave off a degree or two is to position a fan to blow at the lights, from below.

I dont understand man. I am lost. I need another fan separate too the carbon filter?
Do you have the answer to the formula :)?
I am not good at maths mate.
Do i replace the new fan instead of the little black 4" fan to exhaust out

Hmm either outside too hot or your thermometer is shot for sure. Pull more of that duct up through the roof. I had to scrunch mine up because I need to length to lower it, so I bunched it all up right before the fan and it dropped 2 degrees.

You do have one already, right? That's the extractor fan and you shoud make it as strong as you can. You don't need any other fan except a small, oscilating fan inside the grow room.

You need an extraction fan that can exchange 240m3 of air every hour. This equals cca 140ft/min.

I agree with Croatsan about increasing your airflow in the tent to cool down temps. I have an 600w hps and my temps have gotten past 40*C/100*f. Plants will tolerate it but not thrive. I keep the lights on 75% now with fans on high and temps stay in the 25-30*c range. I hear its better to get a bigger fan size than you would need and a speed controller. Then set it to 75% or whatever is best for your situation, and it prolongs the life of the fan plus gives you more temp control. Depends on your budget though. Hope this helps.

Do you have a journal in progress? Your plants look great.

Thanks mate, So if i swap out the crappy 4" exhaust for a better one, you think i will have lower temp.
I made it so it leaves out the back hole now instead of the top. but the fan is more level with the carbon filter.
The fan i am using is doing 105/m3 pretty poor.

If i purchase a 4" that exhausts atleast 240m3 with a fan controller, that will work?

As you now stated i will need to match the size of the carbon filter is that what you mean? as the ducting wouldnt fit? I guess?
Thanks for your help so far, im a novice with the exhaust system and airflow. its a confusing subject on my end.

IMO, you don't need a fan controler. You're trying to get rid of excess heat and I can't imagine a situation where you'd want to reduce the airflow. Of course, if you opt for a fan 5 times the size needed then yes, a speed controler might be useful :)

If you want to lower it during the dark hours, you can reduce it by 25-50% but I wouldn't bother unless noise is an issue. The more air you push through your growspace - the better.

I didn't mean the connectors diameter, but the air volume your carbon filter can push through. It has to match your exhaust fan air volume.
