Plans for a grow box?

i grow plants every season, but normally outdoors. i dont have anywhere outdoors to put them anymore, so i need to setup an inside growbox. the problem is, my outdoor plants get 8 to 15 feet tall, and that wont work inside. will the plants grow just to the size of the box, kinda like a snake does? please help, if anyone has some good info on lights, and how to set it all up. it would be greatly appriciated. im working with a 8x4 sheet of plywood, and some 2x4s. ill get the lights this weekend. only looking for room for 3 plants or so.
