SANTA ANA =AD Libertarian gubernatorial candidate, Steve Kubby, will call tomorrow for Placer County District Attorney Bradford Fenocchio to adopt the Oakland Guidelines, or face a recall election. In a press conference scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Orange County Sheriff's Department, Mr. Kubby
will urge the Placer D.A. to, "End this war on sick people and adopt a standard based on real science and what the federal government actually distributes to its medical marijuana patients." Mr. Kubby will also be
providing Orange County Sheriff, Mike Carona with a copy of the Oakland Guidelines and requesting those Guidelines be immediately adopted in Orange County as well.

"A strict jury in ultra-conservative Placer County has voted 11-1 to uphold the Oakland Guidelines and we are urging Mr. Fenocchio to heed the message. While we have decided to move forward with a recall campaign in February, we remain hopeful that Mr. Fenocchio will agree to recognize the rights of the medical cannabis community," said Mr. Kubby.

"We are finding that once we show conservative voters what these high profile med-pot trials and the impending civil suits will do to their taxes, local residents become very concerned. At some point the voters are going to have to ask themselves if they can afford to continue subsidizing such an expensive and illegal war against bona fide medical cannabis use,"

Plans have already begun to raise the money and volunteers for a recall campaign, but Mr. Kubby said he has informed Mr. Fenocchios campaign manager that the recall will not be formally filed until after January 15th, in order to provide the D.A. with time to study and adopt the Oakland
Guidelines.

"Our fondest hope is that Placer County will put their war on sick people behind them and assume a leadership role in protecting patients while creating a bright line for law enforcement. We have similar hopes for
Orange County, where Sheriff Mike Carona supported Prop 36 and has shown some genuine interest in protecting medical cannabis patients." Mr. Kubby concluded.
