This is my Skunk x Haze. I used Light Addict's Back Building technique on her. Seems to have done the trick.

I just don't know about my Royal Queen Critical. If my mmj lineage is correct, Critical is a Big Bud pheno, which itself is a pheno of Skunk or Skunk #1. I'm honestly not satisfied with the finished result. I was expecting that fruity/pungent taste like the Skunk I used to get in the 80's.

Granted, this has not been cured yet, just straight off the drying rack. I know a month long jar cure can change the terpene profile. I just don't think that it could possibly improve it to the point that it would be agreeable to my palate. The taste is very hard to describe. I took a pipe hit last night and my wife said it smelled like burnt black pepper. I think it is more akin to a burning tire.

So right now I'm going to take a hit and try my best to describe it.

First the smell: Skunk, burnt rubber, very slight floral finish.

Taste: Very, very acrid; lots of lung expansion; makes me cough really bad, absolutely no sweet or fruity notes; leaves a bitter taste in my mouth; doesn't make me want to take another hit.

Now, for those that know I grow hydroponically, this plant was flushed for just under two weeks with Clearex. The ash is white. All other strains under my roof respond quite well to the same treatment which leaves me to believe I just don't like the taste of the strain. The effect isn't all that strong either.

I think I'm going to cure some up before making my final call. But I'm nearly certain that this strain is going by the way-side. It's a shame. I was hoping to cross her with some of my other strains. She's pretty hardy, clones and flowers pretty fast. But there's no sense growing what I don't like. I'm going to hand out some samples to some medical patients that I know to get their opinions. But for now, she's getting pushed to the back of the tent.

I'm certain that I have a different Blue Blood pheno than what I had before. The last one smelled and tasted musky/fruity with strong OG citrus/fuel. The ones I have in flower now smell like pure blueberry. Another thing, they don't have Kush leaves. They are just as thin as my Kerala Krushs which are 100% Sativa. Bud the buds are nice and dense. They are looking to be eight week finishers.

Speaking of my Kerala Krushes, they are looking pretty good for being in 1 gallon containers with plain Miracle Grow potting soil. I've been meany to take some pics of them for Lester. That slow release fertilizer should just about be used up. I've watered them twice with Clearex. Slowly I'll start to supplement them with flowering nutes and bloom boosters.

I took down four Purpe Kushs last night. They were pretty small, only reached around 12" tall. I think I have a dozen of them in the cloner. I plan on giving those some veg time to increase my yield. There's some Holy Grail Kushs about to come down two. Busy, busy, busy. I'll see what I can do about some more pics. Until then, :peace:

Nice update Josh. I'm on your heels! Our Soda Pop Pots Perpetual Grow is just hitting 2nd gear...

I was finally able to get some Kerala Krush pics.

These are a couple Purple Kushes and Holy grail Kushes. These are the first of the "Osmocoat Plus experimental plants". I tried to get some pics of them but they were crappy. Then I moved into the veg tent. I decided to pu the four ripe plants in the veg tent over night while I trimmed three Botanicare fed Holy Grail Kushes.

I agree with your decision to not keep growing Royal Queen Critical. I had an Indica cannabis strain that tasted terrible and produced some paranoia that I discontinued growing myself. With all of the flavorful and medicinal cannabis strains available today there is no point in continuing to grow anything less palatable and potent.

Just now saw this John. ^^^ It's kind of funny because I logged on to say that I am done with Critical. Well, I have a couple in flowering but that will be it. I still think it's a shame because the strain has almost all the traits us indoor growers look for.

A co-worker came over the other day. "Huh. This is something different." was his reply. I gave a large sample to my brother. He came over this morning wanting Holy Grail Kush. I asked him about the Critical. He said "It's alright. But after 30 minutes I feel nothing." So that about sums it up.

I have around 14 plants set to come done this weekend. I have the first couple new pheno Blue Bloods in there in addition to one Skunk X Haze, both are new to me.

I just finished drying some Holy Grail Kush and Purple Kush that were only fed Osmocote Plus instead of hydo nutes. I still think they are more scent heavy. I better do some sampling. Just as I thought-not as smooth as the Botanicare Kind girls. Lot's of lung expansion. Not bad but I'm accustomed to a higher grade. Slight chemical after taste that is new. Ashes are white so I guess the Clearex flushes did something. I think I'll save the rest of the osmocote for the mother plants and next years veggie garden.

Wonder how many pheno there are of the Blue Blood. Mine is short, slow growing, super fat leaves, and smells like blueberry skittles. Have a few about to flower with super soil that should get pretty big. I also have one that's about to come down which I believe I used Jobes All Purpose fertilizer on.

The issue I've had with OC and any slow release is flushing. Even if I flush the plant it seems like I can never get the same smoother smoke as my organic runs.

Plants look gorgeous brotha! Especially the purps :)

I just got done setting 29 clones. Half will be moved into flowering this evening.

I have 14 flowering girls that I guessed would meet the Fiskars over the weekend. Maybe tonight.

My veg tent is getting pretty full.

There's still a dozen or so clones in there from the last cycle. I took them for a friend but he still doesn't have his room set up. Not sure what to do with those gals. Some are 2' tall just in 16 oz solo cups. At this point I suppose the are no longer clones.

I'm not sure yet what to do about my flowering situation. I want more real estate than what a 2' x 4' tent offers. I think I'm just going to have to stick with it for now--at least until the end of January. My options are either going with a larger tent, I see Gorilla Tents has a new Lite line that is a lot cheaper than the originals. Or, I could say screw it and use the whole room. There's a couple issues with that. Money for one even though I'd be saving on the price of the tent. Second, the room has a suspended acoustic tile ceiling with a lot of the plumbing, mechanical, and electrical up there. I'm thinking I'd have to put two beams up to hang the lights.

Then there's the issue of adding more electrical circuits. Our panel box is on the outside of the house. Looks to be a booger to run more lines. I'd also have to step my ventilation up. I could always use the current ventilation as an active air inlet. I also could use a dehumidifier. Then more lights...the room is something close to 12' x 12'. That be four 1000 watt HPS. I just don't know if I want to go through all that. Sometimes I think a 4' x 8' tent is the answer.

I also will be needing to restock on nutes. I think I'm going to try out Advanced Nutrients Grand Master line up with PH Perfect. It's a big investment, something like $270 but that would be enough to last me a year unless I start growing larger plants. If I don't go with Advanced or don't like it I'm going organic. Maybe with Botanicare's Pure Blend as a base.

I drive myself crazy always thinking of what I can do different to make a better end result. :loopy:
