OverGrow Canada Eh!

Sure hope all my fellow canucks have registered for this awesome endeavour, and plan on planting their free seeds all over their city.

I have many of my locations already picked out, some visible for all, some visible by few.

Nature trails will look the most natural they have in years. City parks and public ponds will be displaying some fresh new greenery.

I wish someone could start a campaign like this is many other countries.

Fan Leaves Across America perhaps

ooo....first I'm hearing about this. I'm definitely in. I've never grown outdoors (yet). Do you think the season is long enough to start producing some wild strains?

Sorry if I rain on everyone's parade!

That is the worst idea ever. For one if they are giving out that many seeds you never know what they are. Plus lots of people don't know what to watch for. That and the people that just never go back and there is males growing every where. Pollen also.

Just another way people just screw shit up. More plants are not a good thing if you don't know what is growing. Last thing you guys want is a bunch of wild weed growing everywhere. Pollen will be screwing up everything outdoors and lots of indoor grows.

Sounds more like someone wanting to screw up all the genetics out there so people have to buy their cave weed LMAO. You have to look farther then tomorrow to understand the real effects of somethings.

It won't be a end all for growing. It could make it a pain in the ass.

Around here seeded weed comes from other parts of the world

I gotta say I'm with jackalope on this one. All I want is that sensimiliia herb. All these males left unchecked and you'll be picking seeds out of your weed for days pollinated by Joe blows shit strain of who knows what. Buy seeds from reputable places and only grow what you can physically care for otherwise its irresponsible at best.

I just read an article about the impact of hemp farming in Colorado. One grower said before a hemp farm was set up nearby he used to find 1-2 seeds per pound, now he finds 5-10 per oz. For me that's like 1 seed per big bud, that's pretty much still sinsemilla in my book. And that's from outdoor growing. Indoors the impact has to be much less. Also, people are still going to be yanking these things out left, right, and centre. I don't think it will ever be fields. More likely just little stands here or there. It might be cool to have a landrace Canadian Strain. I'm all for plant-organism rights to thrive in the global ecosystem. :)

As we are on this forum as growers, I find it funny you believe we will just chuck out beans like we are Johnny Appleseed, not having a care in the world. Every single one that I sow, I will be keeping an eye on. The ones in public areas, I expect to be yanked well before maturity. The ones that happen to make it near harvest, will not just be left to die off.

My area is known for farmers fields being impregnated with plants, then raped by other people. My expectations are to never see one produce a flower, if I get to see it, I will be shocked and amazed.

Another thing my area has, is natural ditch weed. It not hiding, its right there in the open fields and naturalized areas. Whether its straight hemp or a short stature'd ruderalis strain I do not know, but it holds the plant characteristics that we have come to know well. If that hasn't taken over the land by now, not sure a few of these seeds (Freedom Dream) will succeed.

listed as "Freedom Dream", but who knows what the origins of its parents actually are. I found another post about these from 2017 in here

Freedom Dream Community Grow Journal

They state that most, if not all, the seeds they were given are autos.....which is better in my eyes

Would be nice if some of those old members found this new thread, share some knowledge and photos perhaps

Not as many pictures in that as I would have liked, but I can't force them to to my standards
